Not being fooled Longstreet, I don't think they can or will either, but McCain says he will NOT even entertain the idea...

It's one hell of a mess to be sure, and you are correct, your grandson and mine will both likely serve in that flea infested shit hole if there's still a USA that's capable by that time...

And here's the only point where we may disagree, I believe Iraq IS the fault of George Bush, win, lose or draw, it's HIS baby, and our troops DID do the job they were sent to do, they took out Saddam, and whether that was a very good idea or a very bad one will be left to history, but after Saddam and his band of merry men were deposed, Bush and Company blew the most wonderful opportunity that could have ever been presented to them, all because none of Bush's people had a clue as to what move to make next, and the ones that DID have a good idea were shunned because Bush didn't want to appear to be a 'victor' in war...

My contention has long been that we had NO business going to Iraq to begin with, BUT, if you're gonna go, why waltz when you can rock and roll??

You can't fight a PC war, it's just not going to happen, Bush has tried it and he came out looking just like the moron he is, and over 4,000 U.S. troops to date have made the ultimate sacrifice in Bush's Debacle in Iraq, not to mention the fact that we as a nation are on the verge of bankruptcy...

All hail George Bush, right Amy?? And Maggie, you be sure to throw your little rah-rah in there too, tell us how it's not Georgie, it's that mean old congress that's to blame for the way Bush micromanaged this war to the point of NO return... :(

The democrats will not bring the troops home from Iraq. Do NOT be fooled.

Once they assume office, the war in Iraq will become theirs. They understand that… and they also understand that pulling the troops out of Iraq will be seen as the worst defeat in the history of the United States Military… and they do not want that millstone hung around the neck of a democrat presidential administration. However, they would be happy to hang it around George Bush’s neck.

The dems may have a draw down of troops, but the bulk of the troops now in Iraq will remain.

I have said from day one of the invasion that US forces would be in Iraq for 50 years at least. Check my archives and you will see that. Nothing has since changed my mind.

No, I am NOT happy with the prosecution of the war in Iraq. I think it could have been done far more aggressively and it would have resulted in a cessation of hostilities long before now. Add to that our godawful attempt at nation building and we have a huge mess on our hands.

Look, I fully expect my 5-year-old grandson to serve in the US Military in Iraq. His mother and I have already spoken about it. I am convinced that war in Iraq is a fact that will be with us for a VERY long tome.

I understand many of you will not agree with me. That is fine. I respect that. It is your right, and I would expect no less from “thinking” people I happen to admire such as yourselves. I am not so conceited as to believe that I have the answer, or ANY answers, as far as the war is concerned. But, I do believe that it will be with us a very long, long, time.

Respectfully,

Longstreet

Ranando, my very 1st thought was, these rag headed sons of bitches aren't concerned about dismissal, they had their weapons and equipment in holding, and now they WILL be out there doing everything in their power to kill more Americans...

I don't know what troops these Bush Bot bastards are talking to but I talk to a lot of troops myself, some are friends, some are family, some are friends OF family, and I have one old and dear friend that is still employed by an Intel agency and I can tell you this, the word I get is nothing even remotely similar to what people like Amy and a few others are telling...

I hear about the rocket attacks on the Green Zone and the REAL damage that is incurred, I hear how the troops feel about going back to Iraq for that 2nd, 3rd and in some cases, 4th tour of duty, and let me assure you, they have nothing good to say about Iraq OR Iraqi freedom, almost to a man, the guys I talk to say the same thing, "Yeah, we're going back, and I'm gonna go, but it's not because I want to 'free' some shit-skinned assholes, I am going because I'm ordered to go and I have no choice, and I am going to be there to protect my BROTHERS, I don't give a f*ck about the Iraqis..."

And truth be told, that's quite likely what many more troops would say if they knew they weren't afraid they were talking to some ignorant asswipe like Amy, or someone like her, someone that would run to the base commander and 'rat' em out in an effort to suck up to a new level of ass kissing and stripe buying...

I wonder where the 1300 are heading, you don't think they're going to Disneyland do you?

We all know where they're going, they're going to get even more Americans killed. Tax dollars well spent.

I am afraid that I have to agree with you on this one Fred...voting for a Dem is something I never thought I would consider.
But Obama and Clinton are both in the same sandbox as far as taking our fine men and women home from Iraq.
The Iraqis won't stand on their own and that is costing us America's finest!!
McCain said we would be there for the next 100 years..screw him.
I hate seeing the daily posts on new casualties in Iraq. It could be your son or daughter, mine, or any of your frequent readers.
These sand monkeys can't stand up for themselves and apparently they never will....so let them sit in their own quagmire.
'Nuff said

Pathetic, just plain pathetic is all I can say. The officers, at minimum, should have been publicly hanged as an example of the rewards of cowardice and treason.
