McCain welcomes Obama with fresh criticism
June 3rd, 2008 . by TexasFredNEW ORLEANS (AP) – Republican John McCain welcomed Democrat Barack Obama to the fall campaign for the White House on Tuesday with a blistering attack on his judgment and a charge that he “voted to deny funds to the soldiers who have done a brilliant and brave job” in Iraq.
“Americans ought to be concerned about the judgment of a presidential candidate who says he’s ready to talk, in person and without conditions, with tyrants from Havana to Pyongyang, but hasn’t traveled to Iraq to meet with General (David) Petraeus, and see for himself the progress he threatens to reverse,” McCain said as his rival wrapped up the Democratic nomination.
McCain cast Obama, a first-term Illinois senator, as lacking the experience and discretion to be a wartime commander in chief, and he argued the Democrat’s calls for a troop withdrawal from Iraq would imperil the United States.
The Arizona senator mocked Obama’s promise of change for a country weary of the status quo, uttering the word “change” no fewer than 33 times.

OK, the Obamanation has wrapped up the necessary delegates to take the Dem nomination for president, and as I have said in numerous posts, IF it came down to a race between Hillary Clinton and John McCain, I was not taking either and would do a write in for Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter as I supported my position of None of the Above.
I also made it very clear that if Obama were to secure the Democratic nomination that I would become a supporter of John McCain, and tonight that is exactly what I have become.
The blog roll None of the Above will stay active for now, at least through the Democratic convention, but barring some miracle, Obama will be the choice of the Dems and if that is in fact the outcome of the Dem convention, I will deactivate None of the Above and vacate the roll.
Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s not that I don’t think John McCain won’t be a good president, he very likely will be, but I also feel that he is not conservative enough, at least not at this time, I am in direct opposition to Sen. McCain’s view on guns, at least his sometimes position on guns, it seems his position fluctuates depending on who he’s talking to, and that is a characteristic I do NOT like in ANY candidate…
John McCain tried running for president in 2000 as an anti-gunner. This year it appears he is seeking to ‘come home’ to the pro-gun community, but the wounds are deep and memories long. John McCain – GOA 2008
As if there wasn’t already plenty of evidence that Senator John McCain is the wrong choice for pro-gun Republicans in the Presidential primary, the Columbus Dispatch has added one more item to the list: Buckeye Firearms Association
Nowhere is McCain’s chicanery and duplicity more jeopardous than in the area of the right to keep and bear arms. On issues relating to the Second Amendment, John McCain is a disaster! For example, the highly respected Gun Owners of America (GOA) rates McCain with a grade of F-. McCain’s failing grade is well deserved. John McCain Is A Liberal Gun Grabber
The 3 paragraphs above give just some of the reasons that I haven’t been able to get behind McCain and support him, another reason being his position on immigration and amnesty, Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007 – McCain/Kennedy, but other than that, a few little disagreements here and there, over all I think Uncle Johnny is going to do just fine, so what if he’s a half-assed gun grabber that loves wetbacks, we can deal with that, can’t we??
And there was that other little thing a while back, an ugly rumor actually, quite likely nothing more than a lie really, that had McCain possibly considering a switch to the Democratic party, Democrats say McCain nearly abandoned GOP, McCain denied it so what the hell, we can overlook a rumor here and there, right??
In all sincerity, McCain has his faults, from the list of possible Republican candidates that we had to choose from when this thing started, McCain wasn’t even in MY top 5, but he’s what we have, in many ways he’s a lot closer to the Dems and Libbers than he is to the Conservatives and to Conservative Republicans, but he’s not Barack Obama, that’s the best I can say about him at this particular time, and like it or not, we’re just going to just have to work with what we have at hand, the lesser of 2 evils has once again come into play in the great American presidential race.

Well I said I would not support McCain and I won’t. I won’t vote for him or Obama. Either I write someone in or I don’t vote for POTUS in 2008.
You already said that, several times, and I said OK, if that’s what you want to do, great…
I’m just glad that not everyone is like you, I won’t give the Stealth Muzzie a vote by throwing mine away on a write in or by not voting at all, but if that’s what YOU want to do, fine by me…
I feel the same way as Basti…except that being a Mom, I will do what McCain’s Mother said…hold my nose and vote for him , rather than throw my vote away…it’s just so sad when the only good thing, as you mentioned, is that he is not Barack Hussein Obama.
Jo, I don’t feel like Basti, not at all, I am of the opinion that at this stage of the game, if you’re going to do a ‘write in’ or sit it out, you might as well go ahead and plaster your site with ‘I LOVE THE STEALTH MUZZIE’ stickers, banners and buttons…
The halfbreed son of a bitch is the candidate, now it’s time for damage control, or be ready for the civil insurrection that WILL follow if he is elected…
I hate to come down on Basti that hard, he is a good friend and I love him like a brother, but if you don’t support McCain you’re supporting Obama, and THAT is something I would rather die than do…
Oh I know….it’s just sad it has come to this. Hell, I’d campaign nekkid if it would stop the Obamanation…come to think of it, this old body, nekkid, carrying a support Obama sign would send folks screaming for McCain.
Damn Jo… LMAO…
Nekkid???  Me too!!!Â
I’m with ya on this too Fred. Stop the Obamanation.Just say no to BaCrack!
Hey Jo, let me know where you’re going to be campaigning…
In the military we had to do things we didn’t want to do. To accomplish the mission of protecting and defending the Constitution of the United States, you would have to put your personal wants and needs on the back burner. You family and personal safety would become secondary to the great goal of National Security. I don’t want to support McCain and it truns my stomcah to think about it but when it comes to the security of the United States, I’ll take a couple Pepto-Bismol and support McCain because I believe an Obama presidency will bring this mighty nation to its knees. Everything we fought for and believed in will be thrown under the bus of Socialism. I don’t like it, I don’t like it one bit. How I wish Fred Thompson had done things differently.Â
With every vote it is one against Obama not for anyone. The result will be a vote for McCain but the truth is that it is a vote against Obama.
I have the ugly list for McCain much like Fred. We could go on and on about how out of touch with we conservatives he really is, but the candidates have been chosen and There is NO WAY I could ever support Obama and I will make every effort to keep him out of the white house.
I am already dealing with the Obamamanics on my home turf. They say stupid things and I list off the facts as to why they are wrong. I was getting really mad in the beginning but now it is more of a game. The more they talk the more I pile up the evidence against their point of view. I have been able to pick off the topics one at a time and send them back for a new one. Looks like I will be doing a lot of writing and fact gathering.
There is something special about printing off one of your articles, hand it to them and then watch the steam come out of their ears. There sure is a lot of joy to be had in blogging.
Oh, by the way. Drop by Hillary’s web site and encourage her to run as an independent. Remind her how she won the popular vote and that she can take him the second time. He doesn’t stand a chance.
That should totally screw up the democratic voters. I’m so bad.
Well, I won’t go so far as Jo…. I can’t imagine anyone seeing me in the birfday suit would persuade anyone to do anything other than run, screaming.Â
Do I have to put a sign in my yard and send him money? Jeeez, I sure hope not. sigh…Â
Well, the more I think about it, the more pissed I get, and every time I hear McCain speak I want to puke, he is that f*cking disgusting to me…
I am of the opinion that Basti may just be right, and that pisses me off too, not at Basti, but at the assholes that are the RNC, we had several very good conservative choices and the RNC backed McCain, and McCain is nothing more than a libber in RNC clothing, he IS a RINO…
And we’re not in the military any longer, and sometimes a man just has to take a stand for what he thinks is right, and after listening to McCain speak, several times, and a couple of this just today, I am even more disgusted with him, just as my 1st instinct told me to be, and I should have listened too…
McCain can’t get elected without HUGE support from the Conservatives in this nation and Conservatives that can say they freely and willingly support McCain just aren’t conservatives, and as Basti said, never again, I voted for the lesser of the evils the last 2 times and I promised myself that I would never do it again, and a man has got to have principles if nothing else, because a man with no principles has no honor, and a man that supports McCain is NOT a Conservative, he is a desperate individual…
I don’t think I can do it again either, vote for the lesser of the evils, we may very well BE wasting our votes in a ‘write-in’ but goddammit all to hell and back, the RNC should have done a lot better than they did, look in my sidebar, the McCain shit is GONE…
