As Sen. Barack Obama opens his campaign as the first African American on a major party presidential ticket, nearly half of all Americans say race relations in the country are in bad shape and three in 10 acknowledge feelings of racial prejudice, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Lingering racial bias affects the public’s assessments of the Democrat from Illinois, but offsetting advantages and Sen. John McCain’s age could be bigger factors in determining the next occupant of the White House.
Overall, 51 percent call the current state of race relations “excellent” or “good,” about the same as said so five years ago. That is a relative thaw from more negative ratings in the 1990s, but the gap between whites and blacks on the issue is now the widest it has been in polls dating to early 1992.
More than six in 10 African Americans now rate race relations as “not so good” or “poor,” while 53 percent of whites hold more positive views. Opinions are also divided along racial lines, though less so, on whether blacks face discrimination. There is more similarity on feelings of personal racial prejudice: Thirty percent of whites and 34 percent of blacks admit such sentiments.

Survey shows how race may affect election
Wow, three in 10 acknowledge feelings of racial prejudice, 30% of the nation is honest, how about that!
Everyone, no matter who you are, no matter what color your skin is, no matter where you’re from, whether you’ll admit it openly or not, some won’t even admit it to themselves, but everyone has at least some racial bias or prejudice, it’s just a question of who has the guts to stand up and say it without fear of repercussions.
Some can openly admit it, some, because of their jobs and position in the community and what have you, well, they have to keep their prejudice under wraps, but if 3 in 10 openly admit to some racial bias, you can bet the REAL figure is considerably higher.
Even Barack Obama admits he was raised in an environment of racial prejudice, My Grandmother is a ‘Typical White Person’ Who Fears People She Doesn’t Know SOURCE
Now consider this, if a white person, especially one that was running for political office, had made that exact same statement, and substituted the words typical white with the words typical black, the entire black community would be up in arms over that vile racist statement!
There is racism on ALL sides of this thing and the hypocrisy of those that won’t admit is simply astounding!
Then there’s Michelle Obama, and as the usually objective folks at Pajama’s Media ask: If Michelle Obama Isn’t Racist, What Is She?, I’ll leave that for the readers to decide for themselves.
Michelle Obama may or may not be a racist, I don’t like to throw that accusation out at just anyone, but she is undergoing a subtle makeover: After Attacks, Michelle Obama Looks for a New Introduction and then there is that so-called Whitey Gate thing that has yet to be put to rest, Michelle Obama: Will her words come back to haunt her?.
Nope, I’m not gonna hurl accusations and call the Obama’s racist, not without solid proof, but I must say this, the Obama campaign IS playing the race card, and playing it hard: Obama Suggests GOP Will Use Race to Scare Voters
Do you want to know what America is going to look like if Barack Obama is elected president in November? Do you want an honest, hard look at exactly what’s in store for America under an Obama presidency?
Then take a close look at the City of New Orleans, the ‘Chocolate City’ that Ray Nagin and Company have put together, it’s coming, and the word is already out there on the street: Spike Lee backs Obama, sees “Chocolate City”.
Bank on it!

Where is all the proof backing up the Obamas claims of racism? If you point out their OWN blantant racism, you are a racist. If you say you won’t vote for Obama because he’s a liberal Communist, you are racist. Anything you say against the Obamas is considered racist, while they and their supporters spout this crap to keep the manufactured controversy alive.
Alot of the racism against blacks is a direct result of the words and actions of so-called black leaders like Jackson, Sharpton, Wright, etc. It’s because of being passed over for much deserved promotions because of affirmative action. It’s because you can have black colleges, black history month, black television networks (the list goes on) yet if you try to have the same for whites, you are racist.
I’m sick and tired of Obama-ites and others playing the race card. It is they who are doing it because, as I have said a thousand times, if it weren’t for keeping this crap stirred up, they would have to find real jobs.
Now that I’m done with my rant, I’m going for some coffee (black) in my favorite coffee cup (with a black and white cow on it).
How about this – I won’t vote for, support, or even give the Obamas the time of day not because they are black, but because they are hateful Communists with a HUGE chip on their shoulder with no business being in the position they are in.
A favorite saying around here is “When someone accuses you, it means they are probably guilty of it themselves”. And I think all will agree it fits the Obama-ites…
I suppose that if I do not condone a culture that figures that us ‘typical white
people ‘owe them a living I am a racist, eh? I have problems accepting a culture that figures that the norm is over 70 percent of the births in that culture are births to unwed mothers..and “whose yore Daddy” is a question that the Mothers cannot…or will not answer. Yeah, this makes me a bigot.
I have problems wit a culture, black or white who figures that majority rule makes it okay to legally extort from those who have earned it and redistribute it to those who have not..so this makes me a greedy capitalist..okay..I represent that.
And finally, if the fact that I had rather have a sister in a whore house than vote for Obama makes me a racist then I represent that also..
I also have a problem with a religion that teaches conversion by the sword..and I call those who accept this Islamic teaching ragheads..and those Christians who believe the same..and yeah, there are a bunch of them..remember burning heretics and putting non believers in stocks and hanging witches?…I figure them as bible thumpers who are little different from the ragheads..except they knock on my door carrying the good book and wearing a white shirt and tie..but would burn me for a heretic if they got the chance. So, that makes me a godless bigoted commie I reckon..accept for those who figure that I am a die hard independent thinking capitalist who just wants to exploit all the poor sumbitches who don’t have enough sense to think for themselves..
So, call me what ever they want to call me..except late for supper. Fuck em.
According to a website I stumbled across, B. Hussein WOULDN’T be the first black president. (Heaven forbid he get any where near the WH!) Interesting that no one ever seems to bring the idea that there were folks “back in the day” who had black ancestors. Rumor has it that even Lincoln could have been considered black by the “drop” that established race.
On Presidents Day, Remember Your 5 Black Presidents
As of the last national census in 2000,
http://www.census.gov/main/www/cen2000.html
*blacks accounted for 12.3% of the total population,
*http://www.census.gov/prod/2001pubs/c2kbr01-5.pdf
*Hispanics accounted for 12.5% of the total population,
*http://www.census.gov/prod/2001pubs/c2kbr01-3.pdf
and *Caucasians accounted for 75.1% of the total population
*http://www.census.gov/prod/2001pubs/c2kbr01-4.pdf
From the referenced article, “…More than six in 10 African Americans now rate race relations as “not so good” or “poor,” while 53 percent of whites hold more positive views. Opinions are also divided along racial lines, though less so, on whether blacks face discrimination. There is more similarity on feelings of personal racial prejudice: Thirty percent of whites and 34 percent of blacks admit such sentiments…”
So, according to this “NON-BIASED” article, more than (what does that really represent?) 60% of Blacks consider race an issue, while OVER 53% (what does that really mean?) of Caucasians hold a more positive view.
One then can deduce, (as represented by blacks per the US census), that somewhere between 7 and 8 percent of the total population consider race to be an issue and, while the number associated with Caucasians has been slightly obscured, based on the @45% of the Caucasian block (or 37.5% of the total US population) who “don’t hold a more positive view”, the 3 in 10 number stated by the author is closer to 4.1 in 10.
Keep in mind this does not take into account the Hispanic population which accounts for roughly the same population as blacks (perhaps we see a racial bias in her opinion, but I digress).
So, to be more accurate in our calculations, we must consider their position as well. For argument sake, I’ll take a random number that is somewhere between blacks and Caucasians, say 50% or 6.25% of the total US Population and add that to the overall number of people who consider race to be an issue. The result is the original number of 3 in 10 now grows to 4.75+/- in 10, which would indeed confirm Fred’s assertion “…but if 3 in 10 openly admit to some racial bias, you can bet the REAL figure is considerably higher…”
All this to say, based on the data presented in this article (the data BTW, that the author can’t even accurately disseminate), we can clearly see two points:
1. The majority of racial bias by racial group predominantly exists within the minorities, and
2. Nearly 50% of the population in the United States considers Race to be an issue at some level.
So finally, the remaining questions to be asked are:
1. Who is making this presidential race a RACE Issue? 2. And, who stands to benefit from keeping race in the forefront?
These questions can easily be answered by two more rhetorical questions:
1. Which way does our media lean?
2. And which campaign is continually brining it up?
I ain’t voting for a porch monkey now or ever. Yeah I’m a hard core racist. Big surprise huh!
Not once did McCain or any of the Republicans use Obama’s race against him nor did any Democratic contender. Actually the opposite has happened. But Obama played the race card last week saying that the Republicans will attack his race. They haven’t but he will play that card over and over again.
Most conservatives never even bring up the color of his skin. It’s his policies that suck. Is he so insecure that HE has to make an issue of it? Reckon so.
It’s NOT his race for me, it’s what I believe to be his real and HIDDEN agenda..

Hard-core socialist or RINO
Lack of experience or plenty of experience
Pretender or contender
Disingenuous or disingenuous
Major evil or minor demon
Logically, it’s McCain for me…
albeit I’ll be voting under protest.

Just for the record, I dislike Obama’s Communist white half as much as I dislike his Muslim/black theologist black half… Just my final thought on the subject…
RACE CARD ? THE ONLY ONE USING IT IS OBAMA. MAYBE BECAUSE IT WORKS FOR HIM GETTING THE SYMPATHY OF ALL THAT GO FOR THE UNDERDOG. I DO BELEIVE THAT HE WILL NOT BE A PRESIDENT OF CHANGE, MAYBE IN COLOR ONLY, BECAUSE HE CERTAINLY IS PLAYING POLITICS AS THE WASHINGTON PEOPLE DO NO CHANGE THERE. hE IS JUST A LAIR MAYBE THE BIGGIST LAIR OF ALL TIME.
