Well-Regulated Militia
June 24th, 2008 . by TexasFredToday it was our pleasure to meet one of our fellow bloggers and gun lovers, U.S. Citizen, and his wonderful family.

U.S. Citizen is not only a blogger and an all around good guy, he is a Class III FFL gun dealer and he authors 2 sites, Traction Control and Well-Regulated Militia
Today I took delivery on the pistol pictured below, a Springfield XD-45 Tactical model, 13+1 High Capacity, and it is an awesome weapon, I bought it through U.S. Citizen and even though we had talked several time on the phone and had left comments on each others blog, today was the 1st time we had the opportunity to meet in person, and I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last either.
The pistol shown below is a bit smaller than the real weapon, it’s too big for this format and I had to size down some.
I have Well-Regulated Militia linked in my side bar, have for quite a while and I have to tell you, if you need to buy a new firearm or 2, he’s your guy, and he will treat you very well in the process, contact him via email and tell him what you need, if he can’t get it, you don’t really need it. It’s great to get to meet other like minded gun bloggers, today was certainly a pleasure for me and the wife, and I recommend U.S. Citizen for all your firearms needs. And Citizen, thanks man, you’re a one in a million in MY book.

NICE!
Hell I can’t buy a water pistol without a 10 day waiting period, a written test and promise to never load it.. Much less fire it.
Yeah I live in the Peoples Republic of California and it SUCKS!
You got the Springfield XD? I am SOOOOO jealous! I have it on my “wish list”…
Yeah Renee, I did, all us vile racists have one…
I really like my XD’s of which I have three: XD9 in the 4 inch service and two XD45 in both the Service and Tactical version. The Tatical is my bedside pistol and is a great shooter. You will enjoy it.
[...] Thanks for the mention! [...]
Excellent choice, especially in 45 ACP.
Can’t wait to get an official TexasFred review. GunTalk.tv had several videos about it and I just told my husband that if TexasFred has one, I have to have one
Besides, what better way to tell your wife you love her (other than getting her a REALLY BIG pick up truck) than a great weapon for self-defense???
All that’s left is to hit the range and let us know what you think.
Sweeeet! Is it heavy?
I might have to look into an addition to my slowly growing collection. Or perhaps the Mr would like one for Christmas. Heh.
Hmm…. I wonder if I should mention RTaylor’s comment about the pick ‘em up truck to the Mr too.
I haven’t put it on the scales yet, it’s light, we did an *in hand* comparison last night, one of my .357 S&W’s, a 6 shooter with a 4″ barrel, it was heavier than the XD-45 with 5″ barrel and 14 rounds of ammunition loaded and ready…
Let me think??
Heavier… Only holds 6 rounds of 125 or 154gr bullets…
Lighter… Holds 14 rounds of 230gr bullets…
Lemme think… Lemme think… Stand back, don’t crowd me, I’m a thinkin’…
Uh, I am not gonna sell the 357’s I have but the XD is now MY primary weapon, and if Becky keeps looking at it and grinning like she is, I see a damned good chance of us getting another one, or maybe a .40 cal, XD-40…
She likes it too…
And to add, the even bigger advantage, as far as I see, this pistol takes down, fully down for a cleaning, in less than 10 seconds once you do it a few times, it IS, as my Son just put it, ‘retard proof’…
Kate, Other than a sweet Springfield, there’s no better way for a husband to say “I love you” than with a 3/4 ton, black Chevy Silvarado 4×4 with all the trimmings (mine was a surprise b-day present in 02)..
Who needs diamonds when you can have the glitter of chrome????
