6 dead in Kentucky plant shooting

HENDERSON, Ky. (AP) — An employee got into an argument with a supervisor at a western Kentucky plastics plant early Wednesday, then shot and killed five people before killing himself, police and a company official said.

The shooting happened around midnight at Atlantis Plastics in this Ohio River town of about 28,000 people.

The employee, a press operator, began arguing with a supervisor and was escorted from the building, company CEO Bud Philbrook told The Associated Press.

As the employee was leaving, he took out a gun, shot the supervisor, then charged back into a break room and shot several employees. Then he returned to the floor and shot another employee before killing himself, Philbrook said.

The very 1st thing I want to say here is, we offer our most sincere condolences to the families of the victims, I am terribly sorry for this loss and the pain you must be suffering.

It’s things like this that give the anti-gun cabal even more ammunition in their battle to rid this nation of guns, but their rationale is skewed, guns don’t kill people, people kill people, a gun, regardless of what type of gun, is an inanimate object and is incapable of thinking and acting on it’s own.

I have several fully loaded weapons here in my home, loaded because of the very simple fact that an unloaded gun is nothing more than a club, and I am NOT into face to face up close fighting anymore, I am way too old for that sort of thing, but I don’t view ANY of my weapons as offensive weapons, their purpose is for hunting, and yes, I WILL shoot Bambi, and make some really good deer chili too, or they are for self defense in the home or in the car while traveling.

I have been a gun user for nearly all of my life, my father was a gun smith, and I was exposed to guns at a very young age, and over the last 50 or so years I have NEVER seen a gun jump up and shoot anyone, so, as you can likely tell, I am NOT an anti-gun person in ANY way and I have no use for the ban all guns people or their weak arguments.

I have a rather simplistic solution to gun violence though, let’s try banning insane people from owning or obtaining guns and then let’s try something even more unique, take the gangs and bad guys off the streets and I can guarantee you that gun violence in the USA will drop by 99.99% almost immediately.

An armed nation is a nation of citizens, an unarmed nation is a nation of subjects.
