DERBY LINE, Vermont (AP) — A man suspected of assaulting a U.S. Border Patrol agent near the Vermont-Quebec line has been arrested in Canada, an agency spokesman said Tuesday.
The suspect was taken into custody Monday night in Stanstead, Quebec, hours after a Border Patrol agent shot at four people after being assaulted in Derby Line, a village on the U.S.-Canada border, agency spokesman Mark Henry said. No one was injured in the shooting.
Three others were detained as a result of the incident.
A Border Patrol spokesman initially reported three suspects were involved in the assault, but on Tuesday said a group of four people were involved in the altercation but only one man assaulted the agent.
He said he could not release the names or nationalities of the suspects.

But there’s no real need to strengthen our borders, is there? I mean, this is only an isolated incident, right?
RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Elaine Laverne said Tuesday that the four suspects were illegal immigrants in Canada, but she could not disclose their nationalities.
Illegal IMMIGRANTS? Try calling it what it really is, another case of illegal INVASION, and all sarcasm aside, we DO need to strengthen our borders, both of them. And our coast lines as well.
The only thing that concerns me now is how soon George Bush will have his ass-kissing buddy, Johnny Sutton, en-route so the Border Patrol agent can be properly prosecuted.
We just can’t have our Border Patrol agents shooting at poor, misunderstood immigrants that are only trying to make a better life for themselves now can we??
In my not so humble opinion, the Border Patrolman should have shot them dead, they assaulted a FEDERAL agent that was in the process of executing his duties, shoot em down like the vermin they really are!

Yes, we need to secure both our borders and our coasts. No, Sutton will not prosecute if the agent shot at an Anglo. If the suspect has greater amounts of melanin, there will be a prosecution.

Of course the agent needs to be prosecuted. How can you be an agent, shoot at 4 people and hurt no one?
Failure to properly discharge a weapon in the line of duty. He should be down at the firing range every day for a month.
Border security seems so obvious but it continues not to be taken seriously. This totally baffles me. We may be the greatest nation on the planet but we have elected all the idiots into office.
