McCain pledging to NAACP more education options

CINCINNATI (AP) – John McCain is telling the NAACP he will expand education opportunities for children in failing schools.

McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, on Wednesday is addressing the annual convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the nation’s oldest civil rights organization.

In excerpts released in advance of the speech, McCain says that the worst educational problems in the country are often found in schools in black communities and that as president he will provide greater school choices and scholarships for such students.

The very 1st thing I have to say is this, John McCain is a damned liar, as President he won’t do one thing more to help anyone than any other pandering politico before him. If there was anything more to be done to help the *plight* of the *BLACK* community, the Dems would have already put those tax draining programs in place.

The reality, he said, is that a new form of school segregation has taken hold in which in post-affirmative action California, the best way for a black or Latino student to get into a University of California campus is to attend a “white” high school.

Teranishi’s research focuses on California high schools and the relationship between attending high schools with certain characteristics and enrolling at a University of California campus. He started by noting that while California is famous for its ethnic and racial diversity (in statewide totals), 88 percent of high schools have a racial majority of one group. Of those schools, he said, 44.7 percent have a white majority, while 43.4 percent have a black or Latino majority. But among new University of California students, 65.3 percent come from white majority schools and only 21.7 percent come from black or Latino majority schools.

Racism exists?? In California schools?? A black or latino have a better chance at being accepted into a school such as U.C. if they attended a *WHITE* high school? How can that be true? There are no *WHITE* schools, high school or otherwise, that would be racist, and especially in a state like California? Racism wouldn’t play a role in public education. Would it?

I don’t buy into this *better chances* thing any more than I believe we are responsible for slave reparations. The children of today ALL have the exact same opportunity to attend school and to receive the same education, the segregation of 50 or so years ago is no more, our schools are open to ALL.

Now, here’s the real reason a lot of kids, some white, as well as an apparently disproportionate number of black children, aren’t getting the education they deserve, and race, color, nationality or political affiliation of the child have very little if anything to do with it.

Look at the parents. Look at their demographics, of crime, sexual preferences and promiscuity, drug use, alcohol and so forth. Look at the parents and their religious and political beliefs. In many cases the child is lucky just to be alive given the *abortion on demand* that the Libbers so want.

Many children are being raised in one parent homes, and thank God many of these one parent homes are parented by overachievers that demand the best from their children, but many are parented by alcoholics, drug users, drug dealers and many other types of nefarious individuals that have little interest in anything other than their own *high*.

John McCain can’t *fix* that, not unless he intends to put this country back on the straight and narrow, and I seriously doubt that, mostly because John McCain is as much a liberal Democrat as any liberal Democrat ever was, regardless of the political tag he uses to name himself. His actions speak otherwise.

There is only one thing that will remedy the education crisis faced the *minorities* of America seem to be in, lose the *MINORITY* mentality, lose the *VICTIM* mentality and accept responsibility for your life and that of your children. Accept the fact that NO ONE owes you anything, but acknowledge the idea that this IS America, and you can rise to any level of success that YOU have the will, the desire and the determination to achieve.

When *minority* parents accept that responsibility there will be no more racism to blame, there will be no more fingers to point as they seek to blame everyone but themselves for their plight. Once that happens, their children can, and will soar to unimagined heights and achieve tremendous success, but once that happens, people like Je$$ie Jackson, Al $harpton, the NAACP and the like will all be out of a job. Racism in America is fueled by many more on the *MINORITY* side than it is by anyone else.

Look within your *minority* leadership for the causes of your plight, your leaders are a lot more associated with the problems of racism in America than they are the solutions TO the problems.
