Issa threatens contempt proceeding against Holder if Justice fails to comply with Fast and Furious subpoenas
The head of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is threatening to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress if he fails to comply with congressional subpoenas for documents.
Holder has until Feb. 9 to comply.
In a four-page letter to Holder, Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., claims the Department of Justice has “misrepresented facts and misled Congress,” which began its investigation of Operation Fast and Furious one year ago.
Issa wrote that Holder’s “actions lead us to conclude that the department is actively engaged in a cover-up” because it refuses to comply with previous subpoenas.
I will be totally honest here; I have NO proof, of ANY kind regarding who hatched this Fast and Furious debacle, but I am convinced that Eric Holder, as the head of the Department of Justice, had to, at the very least, KNOW about it, if not having actually signed off on its approval.
I am of the opinion that Holder is protecting the *up line*, Barack Hussein Obama.
I am not saying that Obama came up with Fast and Furious on his own, but if he KNEW, and did nothing, he is as complicit in this matter as is anyone else connected to Justice.
I have written opinions on Holder, Obama and Fast and Furious in the past. I have hoped that Fast and Furious would mean the destruction of the Obama regime. So far, it hasn’t happened, and the *foot dragging* by Holder and Company is, in MY opinion, a stalling tactic done to keep it out of the major news cycles until after the November election.
In other words, I believe the Obama administration is engaged, directly, or indirectly, in an effort to take manipulation of justice to a new level.
Eric Holder Claims Racism Responsible for Fast and Furious Criticism. Do you remember that?
But Mr. Holder contended that many of his other critics — not only elected Republicans but also a broader universe of conservative commentators and bloggers — were instead playing “Washington gotcha” games, portraying them as frequently “conflating things, conveniently leaving some stuff out, construing things to make it seem not quite what it was” to paint him and other department figures in the worst possible light.
Of that group of critics, Mr. Holder said he believed that a few — the “more extreme segment” — were motivated by animus against Mr. Obama and that he served as a stand-in for him. “This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him,” he said, “both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.”
In typical Democrat fashion, any time something goes wrong, or when someone speaks out against Obama or Holder, The Race Card is immediately thrown into play, so much so that The Race Card has NO meaning.
The Race Card has been so overplayed that even if it were to be thrown legitimately, it would most likely be ignored in the political climate of today.
Think of the old fable about ‘The Boy who cried Wolf’.
Not that I put much thought into what Mexico thinks, but, Mexican attorney general: “Obama more involved in Fast & Furious than admitted!”.
Morales told Mexican reporters that she is demanding a full and honest explanation from the United States government especially since evidence is being gathered that reveals the Obama administration was more involved in Operation Fast and Furious than top officials admitted in their sworn statements.
If what is being reported is true, U.S. Attorney General and other government officials may have committed perjury and/or obstruction of justice if it’s proven they lied when testifying before House and Senate committees.
Have you heard another word about this since it was 1st posted? Yeah, me either.
I have to wonder if Marisela Morales didn’t hit a raw nerve with the Obama regime.
Another recent statement I can’t argue with is this: NRA: After “Fast & Furious,” Eric Holder “Can’t be Trusted”.
So far, NRA, 52 U.S. Representatives, two U.S. Senators, and multiple GOP Presidential candidates have called on Attorney General Eric Holder to resign because of his role in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive’s failed “Operation Fast and Furious.”
Holder has steadfastly maintained that he and top Department of Justice officials did not know the scope or details of the operation until they became public earlier this year, but this week, in advance of hearings before the House Judiciary Committee, Holder called the “gun-walking” tactic used in the operation “inexcusable” and “wholly unacceptable.” He went on to say that many of the “walked” guns will likely continue to show up at crime scenes in the U.S. and Mexico.
Personally, I believe Holder can’t be trusted, I believe he should resign and is a damned LIAR, but that’s just me.
When stories like this are posted in the media, ATF ‘Fast and Furious’ secret audio: Murder of Border Patrol agent ‘collateral damage’, one wonders why the media is still far too quiet regarding Fast and Furious.
Not too long ago I posted this: Operation Fast and Furious – Is this Obama’s Waterloo? and I don’t hesitate to say, I was sincerely hoping it was The End for Obama.
I don’t know how much more this nation can take, or will take, but I DO know this, any administration that would take part in a work such as Fast and Furious, and continue to deflect, hide, duck, dodge and avoid any and all inquiries into Fast and Furious, is NOT an administration that should to be in power.
And one last thing; have you heard ANY of the front runners on the GOP side take issue with Obama, Holder, DOJ and Fast and Furious?
