Raging Patriot, after seeing the foul crap YOU post, no, I won’t let you comment here, not linking to you, but I suggest that YOU look into freedom of speech, and I have exercised MINE, in MY format, you may do likewise, in your blog…

Mike S won’t be commenting here anymore, anyone that thinks they will come into MY blog and tell me that a bunch of kids wanting to say a prayer before their graduation ceremony is wrong can KISS my big Texas ass…

They have every bit as much right to SAY their prayer and not be harassed FOR it as the asshole that claims to be offended does to get the hell up and leave…

The issue here is the practice of changing the majority for the comfort of the minority. People used to be taught to act how Fred describes, if it bothers you, just IGNORE IT! Now, however, they are taught that if something bothers them, that their “rights” have been violated. WHAT ABOUT MY RIGHT TO RELIGIOUS FREEDOM? Which right trumps the other? Does my right to religious freedom (which IS in the bill of rights) count more, or does the other guy’s “right” to “not be offended” (which is NOT in any of the founding documents) trump mine?

IMO, The minute the ACLU decided that God shouldn’t be allowed in schools, is the same minute OUR nation began it’s downturn.

The Other Mike: A clear vote was held, the MAJORITY of kids wanted to invoke their religion in celebration of their accomplishment. The thank GOD for their achievements which is admirable.

Your reasoning is skewed because of “constitutional” issues.
Our founding fathers were religious men (most) they invoked religion several times in their writings and Freedom of Religion is one of things that makes our country great.
YOU are the type of idiot that allows the ACLU to take a minority opinion and turn it in to law to protect the sensitive. Damn that! Put God back in schools and see if we can’t turn the violence around that the ACLU has so effectively defended.

IMO, when the ACLU ceases to exist, America can start healing from the ACLU disease.

Well Mike, I am not so respectful, this was a MAJORITY vote, by the KIDS, NOT the school, can’t you READ??Â

And in THIS nation, majority used to be the rule, and anyone that has a problem with some high school kids saying a brief prayer, not leading a revival, not trying to convert the masses, just a brief invocation, is some kind of asshole nut-bag and they can exercise their right to get the hell OUT of the ceremony, and THIS blog for all I care…

The ACLU is out of control. As usual, they impose their beliefs on the general populace while removing the majority’s rights and priveleges.

I’ve opted not to participate in some things in the past. I’ve walked out of presentations, events and meetings in the past. I’ve chosen not to attend certain events or to cut short my attendance before.

I’ve done these things on my own volition. I’ve done these things because I didn’t want to participate, observe, recognize, entertain, respect certain activities or events that were taking place at the time. I’ve done these things without attracting any real attention to myself, without offending those around me.

I didn’t need a pack of money grubbing, soul less attorneys to “represent” my minority beliefs at the time. Obviously, I was in the minority at some of these events and, respective of that, I chose to remove myself from the event rather than diss the whole event.

When will this ever end?

Interesting …..
One of the things that I immediately noticed about Texas when I moved here – I can pray.
The kids even mentioned – hey, in school, at sporting events … there is in fact a kid designated on the boy’s team to lead invocation … in CA we weren’t even able to have a moment of silence.
I hope they never move away from here.
