Fred’s Fantastic Five… 06-07-07

June 7th, 2007 . by TexasFred

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) – Angry villagers stoned a tsunami warning siren in Aceh province after it accidentally went off, triggering panic in the region hardest hit by the 2004 killer waves, an official said Thursday. Several false alarms in Kaju district early Monday sent thousands of people fleeing to high ground before they were finally urged by police to return home. Roads were clogged with motorbikes and cars for more than an hour.

Tsunami Siren Damaged After False Alarm

I realize that these people are pretty much just a bunch of dumbass Muzzies but to ’stone’ an emergency siren?? The thing didn’t go off by itself, find the operator and stone him, show us ALL what a peaceful bunch you are…

WASHINGTON (AP) – A fragile bipartisan compromise that would legalize millions of unlawful immigrants suffered a setback Thursday when it failed a test vote in the Senate, leaving its prospects uncertain.

Immigration Bill Fails Key Test-Vote

The ‘prospects’ for this bill aren’t the only thing uncertain, any elected official that supports this POS bill needs to be put out to pasture… This amnesty thing MUST be stopped…

CHELSEA, Vt. (AP) – A prosecutor has dropped charges against a woman who was arrested for staring at and making faces at a police dog. “Prosecuting a woman for ’staring’ at a police dog is absurd,” said her lawyer. “People are allowed to make faces at police dogs and officers to express their disapproval. It’s constitutional expression,” said public defender Kelly Green, who represented Jayna Hutchinson.

(AP) Nadia Trent still wants an apology, but for now she’ll settle for getting the diploma her high school withheld from her and four other students when cheers erupted for them at their graduation.

School Gives Diplomas Despite Cheering Ban

I am glad the kids got their diplomas, this was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of, expecting a bunch of 17/19 year olds to be silent at a graduation?? Never gonna happen, and the official that thought that up is an idiot, this is the happiest night a high school kid has, well, for most of ‘em anyway…

The woman was lucky she pulled any kind of face back at all. But then again, she was drunk. Don’t know about that state’s laws but Fornicalia has a general 647f PC “drunk in public” law which would have been wonderfully applicable in this case, instead of having to go the stupid “mad-dogging” route — in this case, the mad dog was a true model of restraint.

Cheers at graduation — bad thing was, it was their parents creating the disturbance!

I have NO problem with that either, my girls graduated 2 1/2 weeks ago and we cheered too, as did ALL the parents and families, I think it’s ridiculous to expect otherwise…
