Senate votes to study treatment of Germans during World War II

WASHINGTON (AP) — In 1943, 17-year-old Eberhard Fuhr was taken out of his high school classroom in Cincinnati, arrested by FBI agents, and sent off to an internment camp for “enemy aliens” in Texas, where he spent the next 4 1/2 years with his family.

Thousands of Germans experienced a similar fate. They were detained in far fewer numbers in this country than Japanese.

The stories of the Germans have gotten little attention so far, but the Senate took a step toward changing that this week, voting to look into the treatment of Germans and other Europeans in the U.S. during World War II.

The legislation’s status is uncertain because it was passed as an amendment to the immigration bill, which stalled in the Senate this week.

Still, just getting a vote on the issue was an accomplishment for Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., who represents a large German population. For the last six years, a hold placed by an anonymous Republican senator had kept it from coming up for a vote.

Senate votes to study treatment of Germans during World War II

So what if German and Japanese people were detained?? We were at WAR with their nations and back then we had leaders with BALLS, something we are seriously lacking today, and locking up the potential ‘insurgents’ in this nation was, in MY opinion, a really good idea, and perhaps one that needs to be closely examined again, except today we only lock em up long enough to deport em…

But it won’t be examined again, hell, we’re too eat up with PCness to even consider removing the enemies of this nation, whether it’s the ones we’re fighting a war with, the Muslims, or the ones that are over-running our borders, inundating our nation and destroying our social welfare programs and placing a huge burden on our medical resources, the ILLEGAL INVADERS…

And just what are we going to do with this BS that Russ ‘if I only had a brain’ Feingold and his band of ‘Lets screw America’ bunch has put into play??

Apologize maybe?? For things that we DIDN’T do, and for things that happened before most of us were born?? Are we going to pay off some of the survivors?? Should we perform acts of contrition because we had the BALLS to actually STAND and protect this nation in a time of WAR??

What the hell is next?? We send a bouquet of flowers to Hiroshima and Nagasaki?? We pay off every descendant of people that were slaves prior to the War of Northern Aggression??

I don’t think so Sparky, not THIS Texan, because the next war that takes place on American soil ain’t gonna be pretty either, so why pay out now and set a precedent??

And don’t kid yourself people, there WILL be another war on American soil, not because we want it to happen but because it has to happen if we want to survive being over-run by the hordes of ILLEGALS and Muslims that are trying their best to take over this nation, and it won’t be the Bush administration that fights the next one, they don’t have the GUTS to stand up FOR the USA, and if you don’t believe that, look at the post just below this one…

This crap has got to stop folks, Feingold, and idiots like him, are out to destroy this nation as they turn us into the most spineless bunch on the planet, and as long as we sit back and let them, that’s exactly what they’re going to do…

Awesome post Fred! Political correctness and tolerance is what is destroying this country and no one wants to say anything about it. I agree that we need to do something about our enemies here in this country now before it turns into a war.

Like I said on my blog the other day. “I have it on good authority that the Jews killed and tortured some Romans before the time of Christ. Best we investigate that, post haste!”
(Then there is Sherman’s March to the sea in GA and SC to consider)
Bottom line is, its over its done with and WTF difference does it make one way or the other? Answer, “No damn difference at all. And we have important fish to fry and this ain’t one of those fish!!”
