KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) – The bodies of at least 10 children and many more adults covered in blankets and white shrouds appear in videos obtained by The Associated Press on Monday, lending weight to Afghan and U.N. allegations that a U.S.-led raid last month killed more civilians than the U.S. reported.
The sounds of wailing women mixed with the voices of men shouting inside a white-walled mosque in the western village of Azizabad, where an Afghan government commission and U.N. report said some 90 civilians – including 60 children and 15 women – were killed.
The two grainy videos, apparently taken by cell phones, showed bodies lying side-by-side on the mosque floor, covered by floral-patterned blankets and black-and-white checkered shawls. One young boy lay curled in a fetal position; others looked as though they were asleep. One child had half its head blown off.
Turbaned men walked around, gently lifting the blankets covering the faces of the dead. At least two elderly men were among the dead. There appeared to be several dozen bodies lying on the mosque floor, though a precise count was difficult because of the poor quality of the images.

War is HELL indeed! All we’re seeing today is the same old thing from every war we ever engaged our forces in, just some different geography.
In war, there will always be collateral damage, that will never change. It’s the nature of the beast. The bleeding hearts would have you think that something like this was a deliberate act of murder, but only an ignorant cretin, one unskilled in the art of war would believe that, one that has never been tested by the sting of battle!
A regrettable action? Of course it is. An unavoidable one? Possibly. Something that will happen again? Without a doubt…

Loss of innocent life is always a tragedy. However, it is a known fact that Muslims (excuse me Islamic extremists) always hide among women and children. Collateral damage is part of war. If they want their people safe, don’t hide in the same mosque/house/hut with them.
It’s called “Propaganda” say it with me people, PROPAGANDA, and America loses that battle all the time, mostly because of OUR bleeding heart liberals (most of whom were screaming about revenge after 9-11) that have a memory as long as a certain part of my anatomy.
I feel bad about the kids, they were more than likely placed there for the very reason they are being shown, PROPAGANDA.. The Muzzie way, Innocent blood for political points, for the benefit of cause.
WE civilized folks find that type of thinking unimaginable, but that is because WE have came out of the 17th century, we have moved past the past. They have not and will not until we either drag them up or remove them like the slugs they are.
I honestly wish I could feel some sympathy. I really do! How many children have died because their own parents allow them to be used as tools? Maybe I’m just becoming numb. I don’t know. I don’t want to be like them!
Kate, I understand completely how you feel. They’re placing there children in with the terrorists and extremists so when we blow them up, they can show pictures of dead children to the world. To them, their children are dying a Martyr’s death and will be rewarded. I just wonder if those “children” were terrorists in training?
