Bush to Lock Funds for Border Security

WASHINGTON (AP) – President Bush, trying to salvage an immigration overhaul legislation, endorsed a plan Thursday that would lock in money for border security as way to win over conservative lawmakers and a skeptical public.

“We’re going to show the American people that the promises in this bill will be kept,” Bush said in a speech to the Associated Builders and Contractors.

Bush got behind a proposal to set aside money collected through fees and penalties for tougher border security and workplace enforcement. Two Republican senators, John Kyl of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, have proposed such an amendment.

Bush said the measure would “show the American people that we’re going to do our jobs of securing this border once and for all.”

I can’t speak for ALL Americans or ALL Conservatives but this dangling carrot regarding the securing of the border doesn’t mean a thing to me, actions speak a lot louder than words and hollow promises…

You want to convince ME that you’re serious?? Then here’s what you do…

1. Get our National Guard Troops ON THE BORDER, armed, and ready to rock and roll, with ROE’s that let them fire on ANY threat, and give the order to SEAL the border…

2. Stop your lap dog, Johnny Sutton, from JAILING our Border Patrol Agents and let our Border Patrol DO their job, patrol our borders and enforce the LAW of the land without fear of prosecution for doing that job and free the Texas 4…

3. Begin a MASSIVE round up of as many ILLEGALS as is possible and deport them, don’t PLAY with them, DEPORT them, and once this nation has been cleared of the ILLEGALS amongst us, allow LEGAL immigration to commence, with very strict rules and background checks in place…

3 simple and easy to understand things that MUST be done, should have already BEEN done…

Mr. Bush, as of late, your word doesn’t carry too much weight with Conservatives, you are in a position of having to PROVE yourself, you have, in MY opinion, and that of MANY other, betrayed this nation in the interest of appeasing the Mexican, and quite a few other groups of ILLEGALS and at least 70% of this nation doesn’t believe one word you say…

That, Mr. Bush, is a sad state of affairs for a U.S. president, but you Sir have brought it upon yourself, by your actions AND inactions, and it’s going to take a stunning move on your part to restore ANY confidence in you or your administration with the citizens of this nation…

The ball is in YOUR court Sir, and WE, THE PEOPLE are anxiously awaiting your next move, in other words, put up or shut up!!

Anything less is unacceptable…
