EREZ CROSSING, Gaza Strip (AP) - Israel fired missiles and sent tanks on a foray into Gaza on Wednesday, killing four Palestinians in the deadliest military action since Hamas militants took control of the coastal strip. At the same time, Israel allowed in a few sick and wounded Palestinians who had been holed up for days at a fetid border passage with Gaza.

NEW YORK (AP) - Speculation that Mayor Michael Bloomberg was interested in a third-party presidential run was merely simmering last summer when he was asked about the idea of leaving the GOP and becoming an independent. The billionaire mayor pointed out that the Republican Party had given him an opportunity to get elected in 2001, when he switched his lifelong Democratic registration to avoid a crowded primary.

The continents of Africa and Asia have been populated for centuries and so far they haven’t done a damn thing that has been productive to their own people, had it not been for European and later American exploration and development, they wouldn’t have a damn thing even to this day, the Africans would be living under a tree waiting for a lion to eat them or hanging out in the desert, oh, wait, they DO hang out in the desert, and places like Iraq and Saudi Arabia would be even more backwards than they are had it not been for outside influences… Why in the HELL is the U.N. and their ilk so concerned about people that haven’t lifted a hand to help themselves?? And I mean since the beginning of time?? People that have never developed, never advanced?? Some people just aren’t worth saving…

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - An angry crowd beat a man to death after a vehicle he was riding in struck and injured a young girl, police said Wednesday. Police believe 2,000 to 3,000 people were in the area for a Juneteenth celebration when the attack occurred Tuesday night.

WASHINGTON — An armed security guard at Walter Reed Army Medical Center began firing at another guard during an argument Wednesday outside a busy entrance to the facility, District of Columbia police said. No one was injured. The argument began about 8:30 a.m., police said, prompting one of the guards to pull out his gun and fire as many as 10 shots, Lt. Jimmie Riley said.
