Still laughing at the highway sign. Got a little worried when you didn’t post for a few days. Hope everything is O.K. You and the family have a great holiday weekend.

I don’t have a *great holiday*, this is Memorial Day and for me it’s not about BBQ and beer or backyard games or a trip to the lake, it’s about a solemn remembrance of those men and women who gave everything they had to this nation and to each and every one of us…

Everything is OK at Casa de Fred, I took a few days off, and will be doing a lot more of that, we’re having a quiet weekend as I remember those that never made it home…

I guess you didn’t go to Walmart with your pants hanging below your undies? I know you didn’t! And you won’t tomorrow either.
I take the liberty to post this here, a repeat of another place I posted yesterday.
“It’s interesting to read the history of many holidays, Memorial Day included. How it became a National Holiday so government workers could RIP, drink beer and cook out on the last Monday in May, and many others fall in. Oh, and others to wear their pants down low prison style at some parade, mall, or anywhere. And any other reasons? I just cynical of course. It’s LGBT weekend at the beach here and all that “entails” in the Cradle of Naval Aviation, all welcomed with their money according to the local mullet wrapper,… and families know to stay away. How it became to be this I don’t knows on third.
Every day is a good day for true real remembrance day for the original reason and to honor all those their sacrifice including the ultimate.

Just put my flag outside the house Fred. I have a few high school buddies to remember on this Memorial day. I always say thank you for your service to any person that has a uniform on and that includes our police officers.
