You perfectly illustrated exactly what is wrong with this state and Texas as a whole, I hate that you lost your Mom in such a fashion, I truly do, but that story brings home a point that is so easily understood it’s not funny.

And yet, many of our officials will fail to see it…

As we arrived, I saw County Sheriff Cars, Highway Patrol Cars and Texas Ranger Cars. We were told “Your mother was murdered last night”. The memory of shaking the rubber gloved hand of a deputy near the left rear fender of his patrol car is forever etched into my memory forever.

The next day we learned that her killer was captured in a neighboring town. Apparently he had rented one of the small appartments my mother rented out. He and friends needed money to buy more dope. They knew mother lived alone after my dad died and probably had some cash.

We later learned

Mother had been raped, the $10.00 she always kept in the Bible by her bed was gone and she was strangled to death.

Her killer, along was hundreds of other mistreated Texas inmates, had just been released “early” from a Texas prisons by the Honorable William Wayne Justice.

Her killer was executed in 1996. By then I had forgiven her killer. I tried to get him released, my only request was that I get strap the Honorable William Wayne Justice, who really killed my mother, to his gurney at Huntsville.

The lesson learned. The people (even in my beloved Texas) that are supposed to protect you and you family will not do so. That is up to you and you alone. And it is going to get much much worse.

The release of inmates by Houston will cause the death of several people, the rape and robbery of many others. Their families will never know who is really responsible . . .
