Chertoff Scolds Senate on Immigration

WASHINGTON (AP) – The homeland security chief on Sunday scolded the Senate for failing to pass an immigration bill and said it will be difficult for the government to crack down on illegal workers.
“We’re going to continue to enforce the law. It’s going to be tough,” Michael Chertoff said. “We don’t really have the ability to enforce the law with respect to illegal work in this country in a way that’s truly effective.”
Chertoff is right about one thing, he, and the entire Bush administration have NO ability, none…
We have laws on the books, we have an ample number of law enforcement officers, local, state and federal, turn them loose you idiot, let them do the job they are sworn to do and then have the balls to back them up, that’s ALL you need to do, but just in case that’s not enough, have your boss pull his head out of his ass and bring our National Guard home, let them do the job they’re intended to do too, like securing OUR nation…
Last week, President Bush’s plan to legalize as many as 12 million unlawful immigrants while fortifying the border and strengthening enforcement collapsed in the Senate. The measure fell 14 votes short of the 60 needed to reach final passage. Three-quarters of the Senate’s Republicans voted to derail the bill.
And no matter how many ways you get your buddies in the MSM to print this for you, and to spin it a slightly different way, it still boils down to this, Bush was going to give amnesty to well over 12 million law breakers, that’s ALL it was, plain and simple, and for once the government (Senate) listened to the people and we won a battle against the stupidity coming from the Bush administration…
Chertoff said Senate opponents deprived his department of the ability to ensure stricter enforcement by requiring companies to enter in a system to check their employees’ work status.
Michael Chertoff is a LIAR… We already have laws in place requiring employers to verify the citizenship and right to work status of ALL employees, all Chertoff has to do is shut the hell up and enforce the laws already in place…
The Bush administration is pretty well populated by fools and idiots but it is MY opinion that Michael Chertoff is the leader of the pack, the man is a lying dumbass…

I am extremely disappointed in Chertoff and the Bush administration on the subject of immigration. Chertoff is effectively saying that he refuses to enforce the existing laws. For example, Chertoff is effectively stonewalling the building of over 800 miles of fence along the U.S./Mexican border that has already been approved and moneys set aside. His excuses given the other day don’t hold water on close examination of what is already in place. And no one in the Bush administration is forcing him to get the job done. I really feel this is politics at its worst.
