Group Says It Hired Fred Thompson in Abortion Rights Bid – New York Times
I don’t know how true any of this is, it’s posted on some fairly left leaning papers, it’s there, and likely as not, it’s probably the truth, but I have to ask, if it is true, and likely it is, but is it representative of Fred Thompson’s current beliefs, the beliefs he harbors in his heart NOW??
I doubt that it is, I’m pretty sure it’s just a weak attempt to smear the man and his good name…
Perhaps those were his feelings, a few years ago, so what?? People DO change, at least, some people do, and I don’t have a problem with someone changing their beliefs over the years, especially if that change is real, sincere and is a change for the better…
Personally, I think it’s being put out there because the left is running scared, Fred Thompson has ‘em shaking in their shoes and he’s not even official yet…
But I believe he DOES need to address this with a BIG statement, “Yes, I was that person 15 years ago, those were my beliefs but there have been many changes in my life, and most have been for the better 
That’s ALL it takes, be truthful and you take their childish little games away from them and leave the accuser looking like the fool that they truly are…

Fred Thompson said in an interview (I forget just who it was with, possibly Hannity) a month or so ago that he used to have a different view on the issue of abortion.. before his baby girl was born. He said that it was when he and his wife were expecting her and he saw that tiny baby in ultra sounds that his view changed. (I believe the baby girl is around 2.)
A weak but not unexpected smear campaign… stand by folks.. more to come I am sure.

are going to do everything in their power to discredit Fred
Thompson, because they are very scared.

was Fred Thompson that actually brought down Nixon, though
he was very pressured by Nixon’s attorney’s and staff, he
stood in integrity in the end and did what was right, but watch
the left try to take this one and run with it.

I don’t fit the bill for a Conservative on abortion. I say no late term abortion at all. However if its very early in the pregnancy I’m pro-choice. Having said all of that I’m not in favor of government being involved in any of this. Government doesn’t make things better, government just makes criminals out of some people for what was legal yesterday!
I just wanted to say that ppl do change and their views change. Several years ago I was for the death sentence….now I don’t have a problem with life in prison if that is the verdict.
I was against abortion…but I still am lol.
