GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) – Israel seized control of high-rise buildings and attacked houses, mosques and smuggling tunnels as it pressed its offensive against the Gaza Strip’s Hamas rulers on Monday, while the U.S. joined a stream of countries pushing for a cease-fire.
At least 14 Palestinian children were killed on Monday, raising the known death toll from the 10-day onslaught to 540 – including 200 civilians, the U.N. and Palestinian officials said. Gaza’s biggest hospital said it was overwhelmed.
From Gaza, Hamas continued to pummel southern Israel with more than two dozen rockets on Monday and promised to wait for Israeli soldiers “in every street and every alleyway.”
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the offensive would go on until Israel achieved “peace and tranquility” for residents of southern Israel.

We have become a nation of wimpy appeasers. We are led by the biggest bunch of PC wusses that God ever let inhabit this earth! If we had had these same spineless weasels in office on Dec. 7, 1941, the USA would be speaking a mixture of German and Japanese.
The leadership of this nation is as gutless as the European Union. We no longer have the will to fight and for some reason we feel it’s OUR duty to impose our skewed view of *warfighting* on the one nation that we can call an ALLY that still KNOWS how to prosecute a military campaign!
Leave Israel alone, let them conduct this operation according to their rules of war. Israel has been repeatedly attacked, they are quite right to wage this battle. We should have long ago done the same thing along the Mexican border, but we are too damned GUTLESS, it’s not politically correct to kill those that invade US!
Our *limp noodle* leadership wants the entire world to become the EU and EU-USesque cabel. If the USA doesn’t grow a set of BALLS real soon, our enemies will have NO reason to sit back and wait, they will be all over us, and if the American people don’t fight, you can BET that our leadership won’t. And even if WE do fight, our chickens*it leadership will immediately be calling for us to declare a truce and surrender…

The article says 200 civilians were killed. How do they know they were civilians? The only difference between a civilian and a terrorist is that the terrorist, in one moment of time, has a bomb in his/her hand. Maybe it should say 200 potential terrorists were killed.
The problems Israel is now having are due to their reluctance to follow God’s command back in the Old Testament. When God said to utterly destroy them, He meant it for a reason.
Deuteronomy 7:1-2 When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
They know they are “civilians” because the media have all agreed that dead palestinians are “civilians” even if they were holding weapons at the time they died.
The media also refuses to put any acting by Israel in full context. They don’t remind people that hundreds of rockets had been fired at Israel during a time of “peace” before Israel took action.
Sadly TexasFred calls it accurately by pointing out the sick, deluded push for peace that leaves the terrorists able to keep attacking in our own government. That is from the BUSH administration. The next one is going to be worse, far worse.
Let Israel finish the job. This time they will get Hamas out, destroy its infrastructure and support base. And do it with a minimum of casualties to their side.
It’s about time that the US just step back and behind Israel 100%.
Why should Israel care what everyone else thinks they should do. Where are all these people demanding that Hamas stop being a pain in the ass?
I think Israel should say “Fuck Off” to all of them and continue to beat the hell out of them. Israel has every right to defend itself and now that they have started everyone wants them to stop. This is Bullshit.
It’s safe for them to say 200 civilians are killed and everyone is supposed to go with it. Well, no one says anything about the “True Innocent Civilians” when Hamas launches it’s rocket attacks.
I am so tired of hearing other Nations (as well as the US) call for an end to the assault. Why should we tell them what they can and can’t do. They have restrained long enough. Kick their ass and don’t look back (except to make sure you haven’t left anyone behind).
