Israel conditionally welcomes cease-fire proposal

GAZA CITY, Gaza (AP) – Israel tentatively welcomed a proposal Wednesday for a Gaza cease-fire and ordered regular suspensions of its offensive to allow aid to reach Palestinian civilians, but also instructed the military to press ahead with its assault on Hamas.

Israel said it needs guarantees that any cease-fire will halt rocket fire and prevent Hamas from rearming, while Hamas demands that Gaza’s blockaded border crossings be opened.

Despite the reservations, the proposal offered by France and Egypt could mark the first sign of a possible exit from 12 days of bloodshed in Gaza, accompanied by continued Hamas rocket fire on southern Israel.

Israel ordered a three-hour pause in its Gaza offensive Wednesday to allow food and fuel to reach besieged Palestinians, and allowed in 80 trucks of supplies as well as industrial fuel for Gaza’s power plant.

Reasonable expectations from Israel I believe! It’s not too much to ask, halt rocket fire and prevent Hamas from rearming. And if those conditions are met, it would be reasonable to expect that Israel would halt their offensive in Gaza. It looks great on paper.

Here’s the fact and reality.

Hamas, the Palestinians, and Islam as a whole, are nothing more than liars and murderers! Hamas is currently enduring having their collective asses handed to them by Israeli forces, so, Hamas does what they are expected to do, the sue for peace and a truce. A truce IS a great idea! For Hamas.

Hamas will NOT honor a truce. Hamas has no honor. Hamas has no concept of the word honor! As soon as Hamas is able to recoup their recent losses, and resupply their army of terrorists, the attacks on Israel will immediately resume! And make NO mistake about it, Hamas will re-arm, Iran has the supplies in the *pipeline* right now!

If Israel is willing to try for a lasting truce with these animals, OK, it’s their truce. Here is MY hope for the future of that truce. IF Hamas even looks like they are about to launch so much as one rocket into Israel, if there is so much as one homicide bombing, anywhere IN Israel, all bets are off and Israel needs to wipe Hamas, the Palestinian people and ANY that support them, from the face of this earth!

I also have to add this, IF Hamas fails to fully honor their truce with Israel, and IF Israel doesn’t finish what they have begun, Israel will immediately lose great numbers of supporters. Many of Israels supporters are tired of the Israelis not providing a definitive *closing* in their military actions. Finish the mission. Eradicate your enemy and move on. World opinion be damned, win this war or risk losing ALL support on any future endeavors!
