I think the issue may be that if POTUS allows his staff to be subpoenaed it sets a precedent. If the office of POTUS does not respond uniformly by rejecting all such summons, there will be extreme suspicion any time they choose to not respond. You have to either comply with all, or comply with none. Complying with all puts the office of the President and his staff at the beck-and-call of Congress. Not a good place to be when Congress is controlled by those who are extremely hostile to the President.

I'd have to echo Gunny's thought on this one, and the American people CAN change this, but they'd rather bitch, moan, complain, and go to the polls and elect any number of these sumabitchin' political crooks all over again.

Bush isn't going to listen to anybody or anything but the echoes in his hollowed out head.

He probably has more to hide than any president in history.

I'm seriously voting my conscience from now on, no more "because he's a Republican BS type mentality.

The majority is in name only anyway.

Could we simply get some politicians in power that have the will of the people at the forefront of their platform? Wouldn't that be a dream come true...

I get so tired of this political posturing. When Clinton did this the Republicans bucked the system and made a big fuss. When they claimed executive privilage the Dems made a point of shouting down the Rpub every chance they got. Now that the whole thing is backwards we got a see it all again. Could we simply get a law or rule or something that set this out with some clarity.

Could congress actually do something this year besides through a fit or pass a non binding resolutions. We are getting ripped off everyday.
