Show your support for the Blue Star Deli

EDIT: Original post has been removed, this is the latest, and LAST post I will ever make concerning that ingrate Dave Mooney at the former Blue Star Deli.

Well, we got kicked in the teeth on this one.

Dave lost his business and then sent out a really NASTY email to all of us saying it was OUR fault for not supporting him MORE.

Well Dave, that’s the way the ball bounces, we can’t ALL come and eat there 3 meals a day.

Life goes on.

And Dave, you’re welcome.

Dipshit..

I wish I could show up and help support this man and his business, but I’m in Tennessee. Sorry. I will mention the situation at Right Truth and I will send out an email to the Coalition Against Illegal Immigration, I think we have some members in Texas.

  2. Ranando says:

If TexasFred says this guy needs help, then he needs help.

I will put a check in the mail tomorrow.

Sure glad to know you’re on my side, Fred.

    Well done.

Update: My wife says we’ll put a check in the mail tonight, well excuse me.

  3. Murray says:

Thanks so much, Fred, for helping spread the word about Blue Star Deli…it’s refreshing to see folks step up to help. That’s damn sure the American way!

  4. Just John says:

I’d happily stop in for a meal, but that’s a long drive from Okinawa. Hope it goes well!

If ya can’t be there, send Dave a donation, and let him know where you heard of his problems… :)

A $10 donation from all the bloggers we know would be 3 or 4 grand, and that would help the guy tremendously…

You got a spot on my blog. This is a battle on the home front that needs support. Take a peak at my spin on the issue and start supporting more people who have taken a hit on the front lines of illegal immigration.
I would be honored to recognize any business who has been wounded in this battle. Leave me a comment and a link.

Sorry been out of town these past 3 weeks.
I saw a comment from Beth that said tomorrow, sunday, is the blue star deli’s last day….is that correct?
    WTF is going on??!!

  17. TexasFred says:

SAGE: NO, Sunday is NOT their last day, it’s their last SUNDAY, business is that bad and they will be closed on Sundays from now on…

We’re meeting there at NOON Monday, July 16th for lunch with as many bloggers as we can get there…

Join us if you can, Becky and I are planning on being there at 11:30AM and staying til 1:00PM if we get folks there, I also sent an email to Mark Davis of WBAP asking him to plug this on his Monday show and invited him to join us and told him I would buy his lunch, so, who knows, maybe…

  18. Crap! This is one of the few Mondays when I have to work. I may have to figure something out.

  19. RTaylor says:

Wish we could be there personally – but will be there in spirit! I’ll make the post on my site and any updates!

  20. Tejas Fred: I already wrote my check for $100 specifically to Dave Mooney, putting my CASH where my MOUTH has been for these three years. If I can’t support this one guy from Texas then I can’t do anything.

First: running a business is TOUGH in ANY state because of state and federal TAXES and RESTRICTIONS. He has my RESPECT simply because of that.

Second: because of his jackpot, he deserves my support from afar. If I can’t attend and patronize his business, then I guess I need to make up for my lack of presence.

Okay Fred — I’ve posted this on my own blog, and done a companion post at a message board that has some folks who live in the Dallas/Sherman/North Texas area. Plus my son and I are driving to Chicago the 2nd week in August. We will be stopping at the Blue Star Deli for luch (and taking out for dinner) from Blue Star Deli — both on the away trip and the return trip.

And leaving a big honkin’ Tip, too.

Drop by my website — I’ve linked to a map. The Deli is just off I-35E, not much of a side-trip at all.

  27. GUNZ says:

I’ve gotta do some routine business tommorrow, pay some bills and stuff. I’ll be dropping a check in the mail tommorrow when I go to the post office bro.

  28. cary says:

    My humble submission.

  29. Kate says:

No more Sundays? Well, that messed my idea of taking the short person over there for lunch before we head north. :(

  30. Jenn says:

I’ve got a client in Farmers Branch, says the place is over run with Illegals. They’ll win. And that makes me sick. One more American “killed” by illegals.

  31. Debbie says:

Give us an update post this evening. Share your experiences today.

  32. Peg says:

What a great demonstration of bloggers kicking some Texas sized butt! I hope the message got through to a few of the locals that the Blue Star Deli won’t be going down without a fight and a little help from their friends! This is exactly the kind of stuff that makes my brain sizzle!!

  33. Gary says:

I just had lunch at the BSD. The turkey club was excellent. I know the owner Dave from his previous job and we had a chance to catch up on things. He’s incredible, as he can smile through the worst of times – he always has and always will. It’s a pleasure to know some one like him, who’s as nice as they come. He told me that he is so very thankful for all the help he’s received since last Thursday and hopes it will continue. He’s very grateful for all of your support.

Stop in, sit down for a spell and get filled up. You’ll be glad you did.
