I have been strongly supportive of Fred Thompson because I think he can
out-debate H. Clinton, and took a strong stand again Amnesty. I am now 99% ready to turn my back on Thompson. I offer him one last scenario, that would allow me to continue to back him. (1) He should agree now to embrace Duncan Hunter as V.P. candidate prior to the Convention. (2) He should come out for release of Ramos & Campean after 6 months are served. (3) He should agree to build the 854 mile fence in his first year, (4) and to deport anybody in the country for less than two years. No plan for amnesty without intense study, and working employer sanctions. All this because of the Spencer mistake. The clock will be ticking for 30 days before I put him in the JORGE BOOSH category for good!

It chills me to even think of it.

And Brad hit this one out of the park… That is exactly what my biggest concern is, it’s called politics, and Fred T will play them to some extent, he’s a politician after all…

And the REALLY scary part about Abraham is, everyone is saying, “Oh, he’s just there to help Fred WIN”, and he may well be, but his mere presence has already cost Fred T a great deal of support, and no one knows until Fred T is elected if he will appoint Abraham to some high powered position in his staff or possibly to a cabinet position, and at that time, it’s too damn late, we’re stuck with an open border supporter on the presidents cabinet…

I know that’s a stretch at this point, but it IS a very real possibility…

I know that most of the folks here are behind Fred Thompson. I am not, to state it as simply as I can.
McCain / Feingold is reason enough for me. I am sick and tired of people that compromise away our rights. He has had a few other votes in the past that I simply refuse to stomach as well. The Gun Owners of America website has a complete evaluation of all of the candidates.

As for the border thing, and Abraham? More indecisiveness is not what is needed. More alliances with an ally of the invaders is not what we need.

I’m a Democrat… by birth. A one time Yellow Dog Democrat, I am now a DINO… and Jew. My hope was with Fred Thompson.

I firmly believe we need a clear spoken man… a great communicator and FT fits that bill, but the Abraham hire will keep me from writing a check to his campaign. I still think Thompson is his own man and Abraham’s influence would be softened, but having him that close to the center of things does give me grave reasons for concern.

I won’t be voting in a Republican primary, and there is not a Democrat in the race I would vote for, so if he wins the nomination I’ll likely vote Thompson in November next year… but it won’t be a vote I’d feel great about, unless he can ease my mind on Abraham’s importance.

I am so very disappointed in Abraham’s appointment. I will not vote for Thompson with Abraham involved with him. He is for open borders, which I strongly oppose, and has too many ties to Islamists, which is too dangerous to describe.

Until Fred appointed Abraham, I was delighted that he was considering running, and planned to support him, but no way with Abraham. I have just emailed many would-be supporters with the news, and he will lose their votes too. Maybe the power of the internet can change his mind too. Time will tell. And now the choice is???????????? None of the above.

I am having second thoughts now after this latest development. I WILL NOT vote for someone who is not going to do the anything about the illegal immigration problem that has been ruining this country. I guess I’m going to have to do some more research and and I am hoping that Fred Thompson will come out and give us some straight answers or I’m going to have to go with someone else.
