And what exactly is a "green job"?

My white farm dogs turn green when they roll in fresh cow manure.

Would that be considered a "green job"?

LOL.

Fred,

Over the last few weeks I've read a couple of interesting articles analyzing our push for wind power. The end result would appear to be more pollution, when you consider, as you mentioned, the remoteness of the Mercedes farms, you have to run long transmission wires to the population, as well with the global economy, a lot of the production of the wire, steel girders for the towers and the windmills themselves will be produced in China/Taiwan and the like, and thus be shipped over here. All of which will be creating lots of pollution and using fossil fuels.

End result, we "feel good" about turning on a lite, while we are creating foreign jobs and foreign pollution.

BTW, when Obama said he would create or maintain 3 to 4 million jobs, did he specify where these green jobs would be created?

JD3,

Would love to hear more about your job!

I heard the Obama speech over the XM Satelite Radio in my pick-um-up truck and though my comment won't make a hoot, the guy is nothing but a bag of wind... He's got so much hot air that he could power ten or more of those bird killers.

Yeah, I've seen the Interstate 10 fans across Southern California...and the ones in West Texas sure did ruin the wide open spaces.
Here's some pictures I took out there along Interstate 10 (please excuse the politicians wanting to get in on the scene)

Ground gophers? Why, I love them ground gophers. They're capable of providing you an afternoon is pure unadulterated fun. Just get yourself a nice semi-auto .22 and about 1,000 rounds of ammo and you'll have a ball shooting the little buggers. Those suckers cause more damage to grazing ranges and ranchers are more than happy to let you shoot them. They're always popping their heads out of their holes to see what's going on. Next to camping in the mountains with my son's, that was the most fun I had when I was stationed in Montana.

Note: Iron sights are better than a scope when shooting these rodents; easier and faster to get on target as some a quite fast.

JD3 knows whereof he speaks, if he wants to elaborate on his job description, that's great, and it's up to him how much he shares.

I will say this, one evening the wife and I were visiting JD3 at his job and he was showing us around the lab and work area. I actually held a piece of plutonium in my hand...

The glow subsided about 8 weeks later... :P

Seriously, I did hold the piece, it was used I believe in a calibration sequence?? JD can clarify I am sure...

Believe it or not there is a small home generator that can run on a plutonium pill much the same as the one that was on the satellite that crashed in Canada some years back....Plutonium doesn't need shielding per se since it is an Alpha emitter which won't penetrate paper or skin much less a mechanical housing....it is still on the drawing board because people are afraid of nuclear power....

Michael, contrary to appearances, those blades are moving at UNDER 20MPH at the shaft, the speed at the tips however, surface speed, regularly exceeds 100MPH due to the massive diameter OF the blades and can attain a rotational speed of 200MPH....

Fred, The process the Leftards are complaining about is called natural selection. If the birds are too stoopid to stay away from blades spinning at say 70+ MPH then the ones that fly into them need to go. Kind of like my personal crusade to rid the squirrel population of the run into the road gene. I have never and will never "swerve" to avoid a squirrel, Chipmunk, Opossum or any other little rat. I will however avoid the Moose, Why? because that is reverse natural selection, If I am stupid enough to hit the 1500 Lb moose I will die effectively removing the "hit the moose with a car" gene LOL. I honestly think that if we could separate the conservatives from the Liberals and see who survived longer well......

I think you all know where that would go. Liberals would vacation on Conservative soil. Buy guns and shoot each other to try and outlaw conservatives (Wait Umm isn't that happening now?) Libtards Only alive because you can't shoot them to save money!
