GOP backs CIA in dispute with Pelosi
WASHINGTON (AP) - Congressional Republicans are rushing to defend the CIA after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused the spy agency of misleading her and other lawmakers about its use of waterboarding during the Bush administration.
The issue of what did the speaker know about the interrogation method - and when did she know it - has deepened the fault lines between the two political parties. Pelosi was unequivocal about a CIA briefing she received in the fall of 2002.

1st, to make this crystal clear to any new readers, or to those that may have forgotten, I am not a Democrat, nor am I a Republican, those parties are doing everything within their power to turn this into a full blown political issue.
This in not about the assignment of blame, finger pointing, *he said, she said* and all the other BS that is being rolled out there for our enemies to see. This isn’t about political ideologies, this isn’t about being able to say *gotcha* to your fellow elected officials. This is an issue of just what are we, as a nation and a people, willing to do to keep this nation safe from our enemies, what are we willing to do to save AMERICAN lives.
On Friday, the top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee contradicted Pelosi’s claims and questioned her criticism of the nation’s spy operations.
“I think her accusations against our terror-fighters are irresponsible and, according to the CIA’s record, Speaker Pelosi was briefed on what had been done,” said Sen. Kit Bond of Missouri. “It’s outrageous that a member of Congress would call our terror-fighters liars.”
If the CIA says they have the records of Pelosi being briefed, you can bet the farm, they have the necessary proof. Citation is everything, and those guys are really good at gathering, and cataloging Intel, all sorts of Intel.
During the Clinton administration our Intel and military capabilities were cut down to bare bones. That was a seriously dangerous position for the USA to be in. When George Bush took office the 1st time, he inherited an Intel gathering service that was weakened beyond belief. Weakness on our part was the reason our enemies enjoyed their success where the attacks of 9-11 were concerned. The Clinton administration had made errors that made us perilously vulnerable to attack, and on the morning of 9-11, that vulnerability became a harsh reality.
I don’t blame George Bush for the attacks of 9-11, I don’t directly blame Bill Clinton either. While I feel that Clinton was fully responsible for the lapse of national security, I blame our enemies, radical Islam, for the attacks of 9-11. The vulnerability was there, our leaders placed that vulnerability in the forefront of national security and the attackers of 9-11 exploited those vulnerabilities to the fullest.
The CIA was widely criticized for its intelligence gathering prior to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and faced questions about its information on suspected weapons of mass destruction in Iraq prior to the start of the war in March 2003. The weapons were never found.
I have long felt that George Bush took us to Iraq under less than honest declarations. The Bush administration used information that was based solely on data gathered by a severely weakened CIA. Under the Bush administration, the CIA was once again brought back to a level of capability that made their Intelligence gathering, and situational analysis, highly reliable once again.
The United States has not been attacked, on our shores, since that tragic September morning, and I do NOT believe that the enemies of this nation fired their ONLY shot on that morning. There are still those that would use any method of attack at their disposal to harm this nation and kill our people. We have not been attacked because the terrorists went soft, we have not been attacked because the radicals of Islam suddenly had a change of heart and have spared us the wrath of their fury.
We have not been attacked simply because our terror fighters, the CIA and other affiliate organizations, have been out there doing everything within their power to protect the American people and keep us safe. Pelosi knows this, Pelosi knew ALL the details a long time ago, now she only seeks to use those details in an attempt to strengthen the hold that the socialist Democrats have on this nation!
The MSM is at odds with themselves, a few reporters seem to be aware that Pelosi is a LIAR. Some seem to be aware that the CIA is doing whatever has to be done to keep this nation safe. Then there are some in the MSM, even at FOX News, that are falling hard to the left, FOXNews Shepard Smith: We don’t f*cking torture, I am seriously surprised that Shepard Smith was allowed to remain on FOX after his tirade. Not so much for dropping the *F* bomb but for his continued tirades regarding what Pelosi and Company perceive to be torture.
Smith is, methinks primarily an entertainer and NOT a real reporter. He “presents” so called “news” in an entertaining “Aw shucks” fashion coupled with his boyish grin. That is the some total of it. IMHO that is!

CIA Director Leon Panetta challenged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s accusations that the agency lied to her, writing a memo to his agents saying she received nothing but the truth.
Panetta said that “ultimately, it is up to Congress to evaluate all the evidence and reach its own conclusions about what happened.”

I totally agree with GM Roper. Attempting to mold news is just disgusting. Shepard Smith is just a Mississippi shucker and jiver. The real news here is that Mrs Pelosi has got her “tit caught in the wringer” and is trying her best to pull it back out without losing her nipple.
So, will she succeed?? She has been in Congress for a lot of years now, and definitely has a lot of “dirt” on a lot of other politicians. This is how she got to be Speaker of the House, by not “spewing” out all the dirt on the other congresscritters.
Personally. I predict that the Obama close confidants will do their best to have her trip up and fall directly under the OBAMA BUS.
She has taken Obama’s name and Administration from the front page of news, and inserted her own. This means death in socialistic politics.

The White House refrained from picking sides Friday in a nasty accusations battle emerging between President Obama’s CIA director and the Democratic Speaker of the House.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs declined to comment during his daily briefing after he was asked about a memo CIA Director Leon Panetta, who was handpicked by Obama, circulated to CIA employees, refuting Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) charge from Thursday that the agency lied to her in 2002.

This is another attempt to further expose our intelligence gathering and interrogation techniques. This is a complex ploy to further increase our vulnerability and make us more accepting of globalist intentions. We can’t do it without their help or approval, tying us to the UN or some global body.

I would not at all be surprised if Pelosi suddenly suffered from a previously undiagnosed heart problem in the next few months.
Maybe not fatal, but enough to, you know, make it prudent for her to resign her public place…
What concerns me is that the people in the CIA, FBI, and other agencies which gather intelligence to protect this nation will become “gun shy” in their efforts. If they know Congress will be gunning for them at the first infraction or misstep, they’re not going to go full bore in their efforts to protect us. Pelosi and her kind are putting this nation at risk in ways they can’t imagine.
