Texas primary could help define GOP of future

AUSTIN – As the GOP struggles nationally to redefine itself, the debate over what it means to be a Republican is playing out in Texas, too, through Kay Bailey Hutchison’s challenge to Gov. Rick Perry.

Hutchison says the “core principles” that will help the party grow are not social, but economic: smaller government, lower taxes and free enterprise.

Perry’s appeal is to a GOP base that sees social issues such as abortion as a litmus test of party purity.

The debate is at the heart of the Republican Party’s efforts nationally to rebound from election losses and attract new voters.

Full Story Here:
Texas primary could help define GOP of future

I am hoping that Kay Bailey Hutchison does give up her Senate seat to come home to Texas to run for Governor. I look forward to seeing her enter a nice quiet period of her life called RETIREMENT! Rick Perry has had a few issues that Texans took him to task over, and when Texans voiced their opinions, Gov. Perry listened to his constituents. That can’t be said for Hutchison.

Hutchison voted FOR the Bush bailout bill, against ALL wishes of the people of Texas, Congress OKs historic bailout bill. Hutchison has fought long and hard to stop a border fence from being built on the U.S. side of the Mexican border, Hutchison on defensive over border fence and Hutchison was an ardent supporter of the Immigrant Dream Act, another *back door* attempt at amnesty for ILLEGALS, Immigrant ‘Dream’ Act Fails Key Senate Vote.

Hutchison IS a Washington insider, Texans are not going to take being talked down to by a Washington insider. If Hutchison were to somehow beat Perry in a primary, I would support Kinky Friedman before I’d support KBH! Kinky Friedman may run again for Texas governor.

Hutchison supports embryonic stem cell research and abortion rights, though she backs restrictions on abortion such as a ban on federal funding for organizations that perform abortion and a ban on late-term procedures.

Those are NOT issues that the religious right and Conservatives as a whole are going to support. I am not a big bible thumper, not in any way, but if a candidate is a supporter of abortion, or abortion rights, then that candidate is, in MY opinion, a supporter of nothing less than MURDER!

Both Hutchison and Perry are conservatives and both will be appealing to a primary electorate that, while differing on issues, will reflect a strong conservative bent.

So says the quite liberal Dallas Morning News. Anyone that is a supporter of embryonic stem cell research, abortion rights, amnesty for ILLEGALS and any kind of socialist bailout is NOT a Conservative, and I challenge the Dallas Morning News to show me how they came to that conclusion regarding Kay Bailey Hutchison!

The political pundits are going to offer their spin, I don’t use spin, I use facts. Rick Perry is a good guy, he tries harder than any Governor of Texas that I have kept up with. Perry is a supporter of the TEA Party protests and Texas Sovereignty, states rights for the state of Texas.

Have you heard Kay Bailey Hutchison mention either topic?

I AGREE with you Fred…I AM PRO-LIFE! I AM CONSERVATIVE!… but perhaps, I can either clarify a stance that’s causing the GOP trouble or not…

I MYSELF have stood at the crossroads 26 years ago. I AM PRO LIFE! I had that choice to make once, and I chose life. However, going along with the great individualism and free choice and free market things we also believe in…while ME MYSELF would ALWAYS choose life…I’m not sure I have that right to MAKE someone else choose the same…

Inner city, crack whore mother, no intelligence to find help, another sad sack of a wasted life on the government dole…if that woman (should know better…but doesn’t?)…maybe you know your child is gonna be born with two heads, less a spine or a brain…ME…I WOULD KEEP IT the same way Palin did, but in a free market society, and a world where Conservatives choose free will to FAIL or SUCCEED…for some babies…there are worse things than death.

I CHOOSE LIFE, but IS IT MY DUTY to make YOU choose? I would love for every baby to live, but I also as a true Conservative can’t choose for you… THANK GOD it isn’t to come up on our ballot again for many years… because I think children should live…but I KNOW that without abortion, some children will live and breathe air…but their lives might be worse alive than if they were dead because of their shit ass parents that our own government chooses to support.

I know that in an inner city welfare situation that so many are in…(have no clue there’s any way out like adoption)…Fred…I’d rather see a kid aborted than to be molested and or subjected to drugs (crack babies with huge heart failures)…nasty criminal fathers that diddle them!!! I dunno… I struggle with this one.

I’m a decent gal…I CHOOSE LIFE..but it is it MY CHOICE to CHOOSE for YOU? Conservatism goes both ways when it comes to individualism, free choice, and free life.

I’m willing to die myself over someone taking my guns away…hell I’d die in a second for my children, and I’d have died when they were in the womb to the thought of someone taking them away!

But Fred…have you been to the county hospital? Have you witnessed the places where skanks leave their babies? NOOO we don’t want to support murder….but some of the living??? With no where to go….nasty little crack babies just gasping in a shoebox of an incubator at a hospital????? Dude…some of those babies would wish if they could to be dead…Abortion WAS available to their mothers…and they weren’t even that smart!

Just saying…I’m PRO LIFE…but maybe it’s not my calling to tell YOU what your choice is…hope I’m not banned from here forever!

One last thing I wanted to say if I am to be classified as a “Pro Choice” Conservative!!!! If you make that choice…you NEED to be able to say you murdered! If you want all this CHOICE, and we live in a free America where it’s all legal….ANYONE THAT HAS AN ABORTION, NEEDS TO AT LEAST ADMIT THEY KILLED A HUMAN LIFE!

Perhaps that person was better dead than alive….but life begins at conception!

I’m not for stem cell research where they make a baby to kill one…FUCK THAT!

But…since abortion is already legal (UGGGHHH) so hard….if you’re picking up the trash, and at one of those facilities (I didn’t vote ‘em in…they are already there!)…take the wasted fetuses and try to make something of them…but NEVER TEST TUBE and create a life to kill one!!!!!

Perhaps I could say a few words more before I’m banned from Fred forever :) Men seem to have harder views on this than women. Fred, not every man that’s born will take any notion to a child born to a woman he fucks.

AND…I’ll say this right up front…WOMEN…NEVER FUCK A MAN that might not make a good father!!! But it happens….

I HATE ABORTION!…but for all of my 46 years, at least since Roe Wade, it’s been legal…

But FRED….back to gang bangers owning guns…back to WHAT WE CONSERVATIVES KNOW as hard core conservatives…

BACK TO OLD SCHOOL…Remember that outlawing guns won’t save people from being shot? Back to OLD SCHOOL is that outlawing abortions didn’t save babies from being killed.

Coat Hangers have been around longer than Roe v Wade… Old School women caught in bad circumstances FOUND a way to rid the baby from the beast! The same way outlawing guns won’t keep outlaws from shooting…the ONLY BABIES that would be better off dead than alive WILL STILL BE KILLED!

Love ya Fred…might be the last time I’m ever allowed to speak to you…

    KINKY!, why not?

  5. comment number 5 by: Kate

Malinda, if Roe V Wade had been struck down, like it should have been in the Supreme Court, the question wouldn’t even come up. But since that time, people have used it as a weapon. No, it’s not our job to choose whether someone else murders a baby. The ‘choice’ came BEFORE conception, after life quickens, it’s no longer a choice….for anyone, but God. It’s a life, a baby, a human being, perfectly formed, or not. Mz Hutchison has bought into the clap trap, and lost my respect quite a while ago, and Perry has gained more.

If the GOP doesn’t start listening to the people, and stop playing the liberals games, they truly are a party of the past. Conservatism works, on both fiscal, and social issues.

  6. comment number 6 by: TexasFred

Malinda, I am not going to ban you for speaking your mind, but I AM seriously disappointed…

On some issues we think almost as one, on abortion, we are 180° in opposition…

As Kate said, “Mz Hutchison has bought into the clap trap, and lost my respect quite a while ago”, and I have to 100% agree, and my level of personal respect for abortion supporters is less than ZERO!

  7. comment number 7 by: TexasFred

These will be my last words on the abortion part of this thread.

    PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY! Exercise it..

Abortion is murder, those that perform abortions on demand are murderers, those that have abortion as a matter of convenience are murderers, those that support abortion on demand or as a matter of convenience are supporting MURDER!

Anyone that doesn’t like that stand can remove themselves and cease posting comments on this blog, makes me a happy camper if they do!

  8. comment number 8 by: Kate

Men seem to have harder views on this than women.

Uh….I’m not a man. I have that same ‘hard’ view that Fred does. It’s murder, plain and simple. Making excuses does not make it right.

I thank God, everyday, that abortion was not legal in 1953. If it had been, I wouldn’t be here. How many children have been slaughtered since Roe V Wade, and murder was made legal? Somewhere in the vicinity of 45,000,000. That’s 45 MILLION children, some of whom could have found a cure for cancer, become a REAL Nobel Peace Prize winner, taught school, become a great artist, even President of the United States, or any number of things that would have added to our society. Instead, there are women, who make excuses as to why we shouldn’t celebrate innocent life.

Life begins at conception, when those eggs are fertilized, and the cells begin to split.

If I’ve misunderstood your position, Malinda, please, tell me. However, I don’t think so.

Hutchison says the “core principles” that will help the party grow are not social, but economic: smaller government, lower taxes and free enterprise.

Correct me if I’m wrong. Didn’t the first bailout, which she voted for, set the wheels in motion for the government to take over the banks and financial institutions? If so, he statement above about smaller government and free enterprise are bogus.

  11. comment number 11 by: TexasFred

Bob, Hutchison IS bogus, she is, at best, a RINO, she is NOT a Conservative, no matter what the DMN says and she needs to be put out to pasture…

Her fellow Senator, John Cornyn, I worked hard FOR him 6 years ago, not the last time, I voted for Rick Noriega, the Dem candidate, hell, he was a lot more Conservative than Cornyn… Cornyn is going to be the next target, and maybe by the next Senate election in which Cornyn is a candidate, the people of Texas will have open their eyes and seen him for what he is too, a RINO and a wannabe socialist!

I am against abortion except in the case of rape or incest. I think abortion has become a way out, it’s a get out of responsibility free card. It’s the liberal mentality of deflecting/shifting blame and social responsibility to society rather than with the individual. We as a society made it an easier choice, have a kid or kill it… That is the “Choice” we are talking about and that is a barbaric society that takes that choice with a grain of salt. YET we refuse to pull the trigger on convicted MURDERER’S/Rapist? Child molesters…. Sick ain’t it.

As far as Texas politics and Hutchison… I’d trade her for ANY California politician in Sacramento…but that’s just because our RINO’s make her look like Barry Goldwater.

Exactly, the ONLY exceptions that I find acceptable as well…

Many years ago I got into a large verbal argument with a table full of men regarding abortions. They were calling a female a whore and tramp because she had gotten an abortion. They knew who the father was and he was just one of the Good Ol Boys.
Even after many years later I still don’t know where I stand. To me you are either for it or against it. No exceptions. None.
I asked one of the guys “What if your sister got ganged raped for hours by a bunch of druggies?” Well of course that was a different situation, “That’s my sister.” Well, hmm, until it effects you this is how abortions should be performed.
I guess maybe that is where I let God take over. I try very hard not to judge anyone, and I hate to be judged myself. I always went out of my way to talk to this person and to be extra nice to her. Who am I to judge? I don’t know what happened to her, I honestly hope she had a happy life.
I have 2 daughters and I have learned to keep my mouth shut because they have done everything I said they wouldn’t. I would want my grandbaby born no matter what. Even if it was a rape or drug baby. But who am I to chose for someone else?

  15. comment number 15 by: brwnavy

It’s simple for me. Abortion is murder. The rape, incest issue is a difficult one for me as well. No easy answers.
Irregardless of the reason for the pregnancy, how can we as moral beings decide it’s in everyone’s best interests to murder an innocent. It’s not in the unborn child’s best interests.

I might concede if the pregnancy was a definite life threatening situation for the mother.

Teaching people a reverence for life, educating them and offering them an alternative like adoption is one answer. There are thousands of people waiting to adopt.
Abortion to me allows the male to be promiscuous without taking responsibility and puts the burden on the female.
She’s the one who will have to live with the knowledge that she was complicit in the murder of her unborn child.

I agree with you Fred…I my opinion..KBH is a traitor to her party and the people that voted her in. When she first ran for office I was fooled as a lot of people…but no more. She will not get another vote from me. She says one thing to you and then does the opposite.

Now as far as Pro Life and Pro Choice….I liked it better in the old days when you were either Anti-abortion or Pro-abortion. Myself….I’m Anti-abortion…but I’m also Pro Choice. the reason I say Pro Choice is because there are some people out there that I rule on that should not have a right to live…and to be Pro Life….then everyone ( including murders ) have the right to live. NOT in my book. If I want to choose that they die…then they should die as punishment for their crime(s). I do not believe in killing a baby ( being it unborn or anytime after when it has done no wrong ).

I use to answer questions on a well known Ya Hoo website…but I was kicked off when asked what I thought about Obama and his stand on Partial Birth Abortion. I explained what takes place during that procedure and called it for what it is…MURDER. I’m sure it was a group of Left leaning Liberals that banned me from the site for expressing my opinion…which was what the question asked.

Oh well…..keep up the good work Fred. I love reading your views.
