Obama says coup in Honduras is illegal

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama said on Monday the coup that ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya was illegal and would set a “terrible precedent” of transition by military force unless it was reversed.

“We believe that the coup was not legal and that President Zelaya remains the president of Honduras, the democratically elected president there,” Obama told reporters after an Oval Office meeting with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe.

Zelaya, in office since 2006, was overthrown in a dawn coup on Sunday after he angered the judiciary, Congress and the army by seeking constitutional changes that would allow presidents to seek re-election beyond a four-year term.

The Honduran Congress named an interim president, Roberto Micheletti, and the country’s Supreme Court said it had ordered the army to remove Zelaya.

Of course Obama thinks it’s illegal. Barack Hussein Obama knows a lot about illegal. Obama knows what an ILLEGAL presidency is, and that leads me to this:

Obama said he would work with the Organization of American States and other international institutions to restore Zelaya to power and “see if we can resolve this in a peaceful way.”

So, Obama is going to work with the OAS to get Zelaya put back into power? He’s going to side with a close ally of Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro and work to get him back in office? Is this some more of that birds of a feather thing we’ve heard so much about? Or is there a deep fear running through Obama right about now?

“It would be a terrible precedent if we start moving backwards into the era in which we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition, rather than democratic elections,” Obama said, noting the region’s progress in establishing democratic traditions in the past 20 years.

There’s never been a coup in American history. Is that the fear running through Obama? Does that make him think that possibly there are military officers in this nation that have made him for the poser he is? Does Obama fear that he could become the victim of a coup if high ranking military officers were to decide that enough is enough and that it’s time to return this nation to it’s true position as a FREE REPUBLIC?

As Ben Franklin said, “A republic, if you can keep it!”

“We do think that this has evolved into a coup,” Clinton told reporters, adding the administration was withholding that determination for now.

Now I know that Hillary Clinton isn’t all that smart, regardless of how many universities she holds paper from, so I am going to explain this as simply as I possibly can; Ms. Clinton, when a nations military forces depose the leader, be it King, President, whatever, it is called a COUP.

The Obama administration’s stance contrasted with the equivocal position taken in 2002 by former President George W. Bush’s administration, which was seen as tacitly accepting a coup against Venezuela’s leftist President Hugo Chavez.

Of course Obama is critical, I refer you back to the 2nd paragraph of my commentary. Obama has got to support his leftist and socialist buddies in this part of the world. They are becoming as thick as thieves as they band together making their decisions on how to divvy up the carcass of what was once the greatest nation on earth, the United States of America.

This ILLEGAL coup, the one that concerns Obama so, is also a form of living government. Zelaya has been on the receiving end of an INSTANT RECALL!

Tell me that’s not a sure sign the voters are pissed off!! 😈

With this thinking, in which a government removes an individual, Zelaya, who wishes to make himself Dictator For Life in the same vein as his GOOD friend Hugo Chavez, against his country’s Constitution, and Obama sides with the potential dictator against the rule of law (please note that, in the interim, a CIVILIAN is placed in control of the government and not a military member), then you can simply assume Mr Obama would have vehemently disagreed with the American Revolution.

Am all for the current coup in Honduras. Obama is having a preminition of what might be his fate and it scares him. You know the POTUS is unAmerican when he throws in with Chavas and Castro.

Birds of a feather protect each other.

  7. BobF says:

You think maybe Obama is wanting to become president for life? Maybe he looks at these dictators and envies them?

It seems this Zelaya had the Congress and Judiciary against him. Two of the three branches of government wanted him out and the military just obliged the Congress and Judiciary. If Obama thinks it’s illegal, then we know for sure it was legal. Besides, it’s their country.

I hate to be a chicken little and scream the sky is falling, but I think it has to be considered, and that is, if he’s that afraid of the same fate maybe old purple lips thinks he’ll have to depend on his hispanic buddies to try and help him out . Nothing, is beyond this fraudulent asshole as far as I’m concerned.

Zeyala has put off his visit home until this weekend. I hope he gets a good ol’ Independence Day greeting and see the inside of a prison. We need examples of what happens to traitors in this modern day.
