White House uses e-mail to counter health critics

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama’s push to revamp health care got a boost Thursday as a new coalition of drug makers, unions, hospitals and others launched a $12 million pro-overhaul ad campaign. Meanwhile, the administration sought to regain control of the health care debate by asking supporters to forward a chain e-mail to counter criticism that’s circulating on the Internet.

The e-mail by White House senior adviser David Axelrod offers reasons to support Obama’s agenda - and myths to debunk.

Axelrod wrote that opponents are relying on tactics including “viral e-mails that fly unchecked and under the radar, spreading all sorts of lies.”

“So let’s start a chain e-mail of our own,” he said, inviting supporters to forward a message countering claims that Obama’s plans would lead to rationing, encourage euthanasia or deplete veterans’ health care.

White House uses e-mail to counter health critics

Did YOU get one of the emails from David Axelrod? I did. I deleted it, because I don’t care to hear any more Obamanure than I absolutely have to. But now I have to wonder, why am I getting the emails? I have NEVER subscribed to anything from the White House web site.

Say… Am I on that LIST? The [email protected] list? I think that was the address, not sure, it was something like that.

Maybe it’s the [email protected] address. You never know anymore. We have a POTUS that is into the ‘net, and that man just loves him some BlackBerry. Oops. I said BlackBerry in reference to Obama, I bet they call me a racist for that. I’ll be on The List for sure now. :?

Even as public skepticism over Democrats’ health overhaul plans boils over at town hall meetings nationwide, the ad is the latest example of the odd-bedfellows help that Obama is getting in his plea to Congress to enact comprehensive legislation to lower costs and extend coverage to the nearly 50 million uninsured.

Maybe if they hadn’t tried so hard to get away with [email protected], that one generated some anger I think. A lot of Grandma’s just aren’t ready to go yet. Might be why Grandma Sarah Palin was fighting the ObamaCare Obamanure so hard.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin refused to retreat from her debunked claim that a proposed health care overhaul would create “death panels,” as the growing furor over end-of-life consultations forced a key group of senators to abandon the idea in their bill. SOURCE

Maybe we need to see a *Grandma’s of the World United against letting Obama kill ‘em* group on Facebook. There’s an idea… :)

Honestly, I don’t mind the White House trying to spread this Obamanure around, it’s what they do. But the Obamanure is so thick right now, it’s stifling.

I just want to know how I got on David Axelrod’s list of people to Obamaure? I didn’t ask to be there, I don’t see a Safe Unsubscribe button, when I sent a reply telling them to take me off the list, my screen went blank for 3 minutes, the computer did a re-boot and the whole house has had the slight odor of Obamanure ever since. Smells like the Mesquite Rodeo Arena, if you get my drift…

And for those that haven’t noticed, I am working really hard to clean up my language. I am now saying Obamanure, and not BULL SHIT, so, any time you see the word Obamanure, just think BULL SHIT and we’ll all be on the same page!

Nothing like making the blog a classier place… :P

Fred, I have a lib high school classmate living in Georgetown, TX. Well, today he sent me the Axlerod manure pile. We are surely involved in a government takeover of our lives and libs like my former friend are on the other side. Obama is a community organizer using community organizing methodology common to ACORN to put this crap through. And we’re footing the bill.

I dumped ALL data, I dumped cookies, I cleaned out ALL the fies, I ran a registry check, ran defrag, ran Windows Defender, ran ALL my anti-virus and spyware stuff too…

Did a re-boot and the smell of Obamanure is almost gone now… :P

Well sure he is Doc, and that’s why people like us are fighting SO hard… And we’re winning too, all the Obamanure that gets spread and they still can’t get it together… And the Libbers are getting scared, and they have damn good reason to be afraid…

Funny thing, though - I’ve been reporting myself EVERY DAY since that address was announced - and I have yet to receive the Axelrod e-mail.

On the other hand, I do use gmail, and it has a pretty good spam filter - maybe the Obamanure filter is also tweaked a bit…

I received an e-mail from Axelrod this morning and I have not been on the WH site with my new e-mail address. This is scary, I guess they have been reading all the lovely comments I make on all the liberal sites. Oh well, I am ready, come and get me!!!

  12. comment number 12 by: TexasFred

    Cary, that’s not it…

My TexasFred acct is hosted thru Gmail, and I got it today and again a day or 2 ago, the Obamanure filters aren’t doing it, you’re just not as terrifying as I am!!

  13. comment number 13 by: cary - Botan Ichihara

maybe that’s it - I haven’t been polluting myself with liberal sites, so they don’t know how to find me!

I’ll try to learn from you, Fred, as you are certainly terrifying!

Well, Kate, don’t feel like you are in the pasture by yourself. I didn’t receive an email from Axelrod either. Since I don’t post a whole lot and I posted on this site, I will probably be on the no fly list and the WH email list. How much you bet I don’t get any invites to anything?

  15. comment number 15 by: Kate

You mean you won’t be up there on the WH lawn hunting Easter eggs next spring? Dang! I was hoping you could get me an ‘in’. Heh.

  16. comment number 16 by: Katie

I too received that pile of manure. And laughed myself silly over it too. I’m sure the Moonbats believe this stuff, but it isn’t selling.

    Didn’t get the e-mail, either.

The lambasted Palin when she made the remark of the Death Panels. Obama and his minions, even Republicans said there was no end of life counseling. Suddenly, the Senate removed what they said never existed. If she was wrong and it never existed, how could they remove it?

Back during your election campaign, I wrote to the BO camp and told them what I thought of them. Since then? Yep, I get frequent and regular emails, from BO himself, and MO(o) during the campaign, and on and on and on. Often 2 to 3 emails a day…They come to my gmail and to my other personal email….. And no, you can’t remove yourself it seems. I have written and said “Remove Me” to no avail…

Am sure I am on their “list(s)”, since I do get visited on my site by some ‘interesting’ people..;)

  21. comment number 21 by: Aunty Brat

Oh, and as an irony? They all address me as “Dear Friend” and continue on with “it is people like you..” LMAO

    “Fishy”????????

  22. comment number 22 by: Kate

Heard something about it being an AOL thing….y’all use AOL?

I’m wondering what would happen if all these emails got forwarded to that fishy email address. Talk about putting a crimp in their curls. :)

  23. comment number 23 by: TexasFred

Well, let’s just put the AOL rumor to rest…

    AO Hell NO!

Never have had AOL, never will…

  24. comment number 24 by: Charley

‘Got an e-mail from a lib associate who had forwarded me a “Bill
Moyers Journal” article “dispelling misconceptions about the healthcare bill”. I sent it straight to the White house “fishy site”.
Maybe he will get an e-mail from Axeldick :)

Just replied to axledicks email. I doubt he’ll like it much. Tough shit!
