I have heard sooooo much on Katrina and much of it was whining "help me" or "come do it for me" that I just HAVE to make a statement.

When a killer hurricane decimated Galveston, there was NO FEMA. Those who survived got up on their feet, started cleaning up and rebuilding where possible. These were people who did not believe in the Big Daddy government and were not on welfare because it did not exist. No massive giveaway of taxpayer dollars. And Galveston is ABOVE sea level.

Last winter when a killer ice/snow storm hit Colorado you did not hear screams of do it for me, help me, gimme money. Again people who were not generational welfare people went to neighbors to conserve heat. Many had prepared chaos kits as they often are out of electricity. Since there was no huge outcry it was barely reported.

5 years preKatrina millions were allocated to LO state and to NO city itself to repair and beef up leeves. The money was taken, evaporated, but no leeves were repaired.

BEFORE Katrina hit the Governor and NO mayor were asked if they would like the help right then of troops. The feds cannot by law send them in until a state requests them. The stupid Governor and Mayor said no.

People were warned to get out and the intelligent ones did. The others waited for Big Daddy to take care of them.

Then the stupid mayor made the idiotic mistakes he made......and blamed Washington. FEMA was very incompetent on this but the mayor and governor lost lives due to stupidity.

Now $120+ BILLION of taxpayer dollars have been allocated for Katrina. 81 Billion of it specifically for NO. But the generational welfare people voted the same corrupt stupid mayor into office. The money is not being used on the leeve nor on city services like water etc..

I have lived in hurricane and also earthquake zones. I always had a chaos kit ready and so did every other intelligent person.

NO is under sea level and has lost 25 miles per year of delta barrier. It will NOT get any taller but continue to sink.

I for one am outraged that $120 billion of my money is being spent on a fools effort to rebuild the murder capitol of the US. The next cat 2 or 3 hurricane will take whatever they have done with the money and wipe it out.

I am FOR compassion. But I do draw the line at gross stupidity.

the only logical reason I can think of to rebuild New Orleans is if the government builds enough "projects" there that it can destroy all the rest of the projects in the USA and move all the losers to one location..and then build a fence around it and not let anyone in or out. I know that we are going to be feeding and housing these losers from now on but it will save on a lot of transportation if they are ALL in one location.

Well said there bro, I wish only the best for the decent folks that have no place else to go for whatever their reasons are, and may the shit that has infested that city, criminals, whores, and the race card playing asshats continue to have a miserable life with the possibilty of becoming sewer rat or gator food one day. Starting with Clarence.

Yes Katrina was bad news and I feel for every person that was affected. However. I am sure that all remember the big Tsunami that hit on Christmas.
The very next day after the Tsunami tragedy I saw clips on TV of the people that lived in the region. They were out there cleaning and rebuilding. Now why, after two years, all we hear from people in New Orleans is "HELP ME".
Get a broom, get a shovel, get a hammer and some nails and get out there and help yourself a little. This is America. The United States. The greatest country with the greatest people. You owe it to yourselves....

Let New Orleans sink into the Ocean...

For God's sake, stop contributing Katrina relief money. This only encourages these people to move back into the same sinkhole nature graciously removed them from....
