Larry, there were a lot of folks that didn't hear back from 2996 Group... I didn't get anything back until 3 days before the event...

Some folks didn't even put up a thing, 2996 or not, and that was pretty sad... 2 folks that I know had really great excuses, I covered for one and would have for the other had I known...

The rest of the so-called Conservative blogosphere fell on their asses on it though... If you put one up, KUDOS Sir, even if it was just your own remembrance...

Well, I have to say I didn't do a post about a specific 9/11 victim, but I did do a post about 9/11. I tried to contact the blog that was giving out the names, but the contact was not returned. I am sure the reason was the fact that they were completely swamped with requests, so no big deal on that part. One thing for sure, that day and the innocent men, women, and children who lost their lives are all something we should never forget.

As for Iraq, I believe also that it was a mistake to go into that country. I am afraid George W. Bush felt he had to finish what Bush Sr. started back in 1991. Once our troops were in Iraq, it was a disaster of mismanagement. One Donald Rumsfield had his hands all over the process and would not listen to the boots on the ground. That is one reason the war has went so badly.

It is sad to see the direction our country is heading. At every turn, we see the increase of government spending and government control. I wonder where it will all stop?

The saddest part about Project 2,996 is not that ONLY 1,080 tributes were assigned, it's that the actual number of bloggers involved was SO. DAMNED. SMALL.

I covered more than one. Many of the bloggers involved covered more than one.

I put the info out there, but let's face it, I don't have the readership other bloggers do. But still, if each of my readers had taken one or more victims to do a tribute, and they got each of their readers to do a tribute, it wouldn't have taken much to have them all covered.

I love the community that the blogs bring about, I like a majority of the people who visit my blog, and I enjoy debating those who wish to debate - but this is one subject that is not up for debate. We either MEAN IT when we say NEVER FORGET or we piss on 2,996 graves.

It's ya'll's choice. I don't want to read another post like this next year, and I don't want to have to cover more than the four I did this year.

Ref: comment 17,18. You first heard the words "new world order" out of the mouth of Bush 41. All POTUS since have been UN ass kissing weasles. They're all in this together. The culture and power base in DC has to be completely changed. Don't think any of these guys really believe in the Constitution.

Unfortunately most presidents like executive orders---conservative as well as liberals. Many on our side overlook those orders cominig from those we agree with and condemn those on the opposing side. I for one, don't think these orders fall under their constitutional rights, but the federal courts including the Supreme Court disagree so we are stuck with them. It takes years for the courts to rule on individual executive orders and by that time it too late---such is the state of things in our republic. The dangers are always there and the guard must always be up and only a massive outcry from the public can sway this power grab by the executive branch. Sadly the peoples House---the House of Repsentatives is suppose to guard against such trangressions, but at this point in time that is a joke. The forces in control there have no intention of inforcing constitutional principals.

I heard someone comment on the fact that is the government in France (I know, pretty pathetic I have to cite them in the example!) does something the people there don't want, Everyone does strike and essentially shuts the country down. Imagine if Americans did that right now. It shouldn't be hard since most of the people who actually work tend to be more Conservative! But I suspect that is NOT the strike you are referring too.

My own Congressman, Mike Pence is awesome. But I see so many others that act like shilling girls. It makes me wonder how we will ever find good folks to run since they have made it impossible to run unless you are rich. Thank you RINO McCain and Libtard Feingold.

Obooboo (I like that one!) has already shown he's not timid about executive orders. He really is dangerous.

HAM, we have a few folks in Congress and Senate that have the guts, but there needs to be a lot more... I am hoping that today was the warning rattle, because the next thing that needs to happen is a real live strike, and I don't mean a UNION strike...

And I still worry about Obooboo and his power to issue executive orders...

I hope you don't think this is too long, Fred. This is what my daughter sent me today:

September 12th, 2009 -
It's been eight long years since our country was attacked. I was 13 when it happened. I remember what I was doing when I found out, how I reacted, the video footage, and the deep sadness I couldn't shake. I watched President Bush give addresses to the nation, and I watched the news every day and night for months, waiting for justice.

I'm still waiting. Instead of a war with a clear objective, I was given an international policing campaign. Instead of Operation Infinite Justice, I was given Operation Enduring Freedom, suggesting that somehow freedom is a hardship. I was later given Operation Iraqi Freedom, suggesting that we were trying to liberate a nation, instead of making evil people pay for what they had done.

It was so painful for me as a child to see that adults would not do what was right, what was just. I couldn't understand why it was so hard for them to stand up for their values and morals. I read Atlas Shrugged when I was 14, and while I felt better knowing it wasn't just me, I still could not understand our leaders. "You need to have more realistic expectations", people would say to me.

I'm now 21, and I can say that 'growing up' has not changed my morality. I still don't understand why it's hard for our leaders to be decent and civil people. Since the economic crisis started last year, Americans have given me a great gift. They showed me they also think something is wrong with our leaders, through blogs, demonstrations, and town halls. I was never the only one who thought so.

I cried yesterday, thinking back on the years. I cried the entire time I wrote this. I've cried so many tears for the victims, their families, our soldiers, and their families, that I should think I'll run out someday. This anniversary was the least marked so far, and I'll tell you that made me cry too, but I know it has not been forgotten. America remembers. I believe, because I have faith in the American spirit, that one day we will make it right.
