BOISE, Idaho (AP) – Sen. Larry Craig is reconsidering his decision to resign after his arrest in a Minnesota airport sex sting and may still fight for his Senate seat, his spokesman said Tuesday evening.
“It’s not such a foregone conclusion anymore, that the only thing he could do was resign,†Sidney Smith, Craig’s spokesman in Idaho’s capital, told The Associated Press.
“We’re still preparing as if Senator Craig will resign Sept. 30, but the outcome of the legal case in Minnesota and the ethics investigation will have an impact on whether we’re able to stay in the fight – and stay in the Senate,†Smith said.
Craig, a Republican who has represented Idaho in Congress for 27 years, announced Saturday that he intends to resign from the Senate on Sept. 30. But since then, he’s hired a prominent lawyer to investigate the possibility of reversing his plea, his spokesman said.

A telephone call Craig received last week from Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., urging him to consider fighting for his seat is affecting Craig’s decision to reconsider his resignation, Smith said.
You know, it’s getting more difficult to tell who the good guys are, more difficult every day, and it’s a certainty the having an (R) behind your name isn’t necessarily an indication that the person wearing it is of solid moral character either…
I’ll repeat what I said when this was first becoming a hot story, IF the GOP ever hopes to regain the moral high ground, people like Craig can’t be a part of it, potty perverts just don’t fit the mold for my vote, the GOP needs to clean up it’s OWN act now or start calling itself Dem Lite, it’s called policing your own, look into it!

Here’s why Craig’s reconsidered: 1) this all happened way back in June. He’d hoped it was swept under the rug and done with. 2) Since it was unearthed, he wishes he hadn’t pled guilty. 3) But since he had, coupled with the fact that his fellow GOP’ers are saying he should resign, it grates on his nerves that Barney Frank and William Jefferson are still walking around. Right or wrong, that still doesn’t change the fact that Craig is a megalomaniacal idiot, who doesn’t have the brain God gave a nematode. Getting caught in a police sting in an airport where the GaySharks are trolling for StreetCarp? Idiot. Blithering idiot. Unfit to hold ANY job of responsibility idiot. Fagoops.. Frank walkin’ around “here and queer” in plain sight and yet Craig’s being run over by both parties, his “family values” party and the “fag values” party. He’s gotta fit in somewhere in between the two?Nobody claims the guy for political expediency which makes them all just as bad as him.
If innocent and not gay as he claims or bisexuual either than I think he should fight to clear his name and prove he’s not part of the knobbin’ club by facing his accusers right out in public and see who’s lying.
Otherwise he should go away in peace and quiet.
All we really know is that 3 or 4 anonymous sources out there claim he’s bisexual momo but unwilling to go on the record for such. And also that he like to tap his feet while taking a crap apparently when cops are sitting a few feet away doing the same thing.
That’s all I see along with a bunch of cowardly politicians running to cover their own arses.

Once the GOP went to the RINOs it lost whatever moral ground it could claim. Many “used to be democrats” allow that they didn’t leave the party..the party left them. I feel the same way about the GOP.
It is way past time for a new political party to emerge..one that has the best interests of the country as its platform and not a party bought and paid for by special interest groups. A party that comes down hard on illegal immigration. A party that is willing to make the difficult decisions that have to be made if the country is ever to pay off the trillions of dollars of national debt.
I will support a party that will explain to the people that the social security trust fund is a smoke screen and that congress has used OUR social security funds for everything from feeding those who refuse to feed themselves to rebuilding new Orleans.
But most of all I want to support a political party that believes in the constitution as it was written and understands that the constitution was designed to guarantee equal opportunity..but it does not and cannot guarantee equal success.
But in the meantime I am gonna buy some more ammo…
