Al-Maliki: Iraqi Forces Need More Time

September 10th, 2007 . by TexasFred

BAGHDAD (AP) – Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki told lawmakers Monday that Iraqi forces were not ready to take over security from the U.S. military across the country.

“There have been tangible improvements in security in the recent period in Baghdad and the provinces but it is not enough,” he told parliament.

“Despite the security improvement, we still need more efforts and time in order for our armed forces to be able to take over security in all Iraqi provinces from the multinational forces that helped us in a great way in fighting terrorism and outlaws.”

Ya know, I can’t help but think that the situation in Iraq might be a whole lot better if the Iraqis took more care and assumed more responsibility for thier own security, it’s NOT something we should do for them, not forever, and I’ll tell you this too, I really believe they could do a much better job if they weren’t such a group of corrupt Islamic moonbats that steal and re-sell anything they can get their hands on that looks like a weapon that they can turn on OUR troops, Report: 190,000 AK-47s Given to Iraqis Are Missing, call me cynical, call me a skeptic, but it’s MY opinion that this corruption starts at the top in Iraq and trickles down…

And I can’t wait to hear THIS shuck and jive, Petraeus to Appear Before Congress Today sounds like they all have it on the same page, Petraeus, Crocker, al-Maliki, it’s going to be the most pitiful little beg since ‘Please Sir, may I have some more?’…

The two Americans were widely expected to maintain that this year’s troop buildup has reduced violent attacks in Baghdad and argue for more time to restore security.

Al-Maliki said that violence had dropped 75 percent in the Baghdad area since the U.S. began pouring in additional troops at the start of the year. He gave no figures.

And I can’t say that any of them are liars, the surge has worked, for Baghdad, the truth is, violence in Iraq, overall nationwide violence, is still pretty much the same as it was before the surge, except in Anbar, and once Bush declared Anbar safe during his recent visit, the very next day there was a bombing, done just to show Bush that they actually could I think…

Still, attacks in the capital have picked up in recent days in the run-up to the report and as the Muslim holy month of Ramadan nears, a time when violence usually spikes higher.

And again we are subjected to the incredible hypocrisy of the moonbat sect called Islam, as their Holy Month of Ramadan approaches, it’s well noted that there is a marked increase in violence?? Sounds like the religion of peace to me…

Submit to Islam?? NEVER!! And as far as I am concerned, just the mere effort of supporting an Islamic nation is an act of treason against THIS nation, Islam is the declared enemy of free people everywhere yet we’re supporting Iraq in a vain effort to convert them to democracy, and THAT is never going to happen until Islam is removed from the equation…

I’ve seen this “we need more time” more than my own patience can handle at this point, and is it any wonder that all Bush has left for support are his BJ machines? aka Bush Bots…

I agree completely with your assessment, I wish this POTUS was as enthusiastic about this country, it’s security, infrastructure, uniting our government, and people etc, as he is about those neanderthals.

I’ll be listening to this report by Petraeus as well.

The only time we need is the time to drop a F–king Bomb on their F–king Heads.
