Regardless of whether Palin made the right choice by stepping down I had already concluded she wasn’t “it” for the White House.

The Senate? That’s another matter. Yeah Baby! I reckon Sarah could ROCK that old boys club. She’d own ‘em with her hair flips and quick quips and shake the place up by being politically incorrect.

I was an enthusiastic Palin supporter from day one. Hey, my folks started out in Wasilla so I have some idea what those fisherman women are made of. I liked how she immediately cut across the grain with the elites and liked who she ticked off.

As for her stepping down, I guess the political reality and future for her is based in the perception of her being a quitter. Whatever. None of us know what went on behind closed doors with her marriage and children. Not all of us have an Abigail Adams at home and can afford to risk those precious things by being gone (speaking as a former sailor). I reckon I’ll have to give account to my Maker for my committment to my marriage and children before I do for my service to my country.

I really liked Palin in the beginning too. I still think like minuteman26, she could do much from a supportive position, but like TF, there is no job harder or more difficult on families than POTUS, so if she cracked under fire, I hardly think she’s the future of anything. Quitting her responsibility as Governor says volumes in my mind. “She’s no Reagan”, and I think Michelle Bachmann is the one who I admire and see myself supporting in the future. There are many out there who represent true Conservative values better than Palin, such as Mike Pence.

Look, I detest Hutchison, but that old bat is retiring… She’s been in the Senate for far too long and presents a real case for term limits, she’s a lot of things, RINO being foremost, but she is NO quitter, and I am a bit surprised that you would say that… She has served since 1993…

But you are right, she does NOT need to be Governor…

Ya know, Palin didn’t serve 1 full term, and QUIT, Hutchison has been in the Senate since 1993, and Don, if this is all you have to bring, leave it alone man…

i’m on of those who like sarah palin also. i think she has a political future – but i don’t think it’s a Presidential future – at least not for a while. i hope those of you (especially the Texans) who are bemoaning Sarah’s ‘quitting’ as governor of Alaska remember that hatred when the quitter who is running for governor of Texas comes around for your vote – - yes, hutchison….and yes, she’s a quitter……..and should not by any stretch of the imagination be elected governor of the state…….

Strangely enough Fred, I have been in that old house and was a guest of honor at a wedding there some years ago. Not the one of Andy and Rachel, but the one of my sister and her husband. Wish I could have seen that grand old House in her hay day—-many say the Burr Conspiracy was first hatched there—who knows!

Palin, I believe, is a true conservative that can be a help to the cause by continuing to preach that gospal. That said I don’t think she would be a good fit as POTUS. Am a bit sexist here in that i don’t believe any woman should be elected to that office. Sorry if I offended some but I want someone with BALLS looking Putin in the eye. However we have come up short on the male end of the spectrum as of late. Women are too touchy/ feely to be Commander in Chief. If you look at 99% of the women elected to congress, all have been disasters.

Back during the election when she was first introduced to the public, she was going to be ‘the one’ to save of the election and the GOP, everyone waited with baited breath for some kind of epiphany… that never happened.

To this day, every time her name is mentioned I find I am still waiting for it.

IMO, she is to republicans what Obama (though I still fail to see how) was to the demoncrats.. window dressing with nothing more to offer that is any good.
