In my view, the Iraq War has been run the wrong way.

The Iraqi people aren't ready for self-government. Really. Self-government should come from the bottom up, not from the top down.

I think that taking out Saddam was a good thing. But we should have installed the dictator of our choice. The country has too many warring factions to be unified in the sense that we Americans understand.

Besides, our allowing shari'a law to be codified in the Iraqi Constitution doesn't promote self-government.

I think we need to open up a 'Light Bulb' factory over there. First we nuke the place until it all turns to glass...then we collect the green glowing glass <<( try saying that 3 times real fast...ha ha ha ) and make some nice Christmas light bulbs that never requires any electrical power....it has that forever glow that never goes out.

Of course we would have to stamp it..." Made in Iraq "...but we could still say it's 'American Made'.

"Gloom despair, and agony on me! I just can't stop whining 'cause I'm an Iraqi..!"

Okay, I'll stop humming.

If Iraq goes down the commode I could care less. Get our people out of there while the getting is good. Then do a transfer of nuclear technology to Iraq. One MX at a time...

I really can't think of any Muslim country that isn't run by brutality in some form or another. Some people will only respond to brutality. Contrary to our popular belief, not everybody in the world wants our form of government.

Dictators will come and go and the world will continue to spin. The Iraqis will elect or select another leader one day by ballot or by bullet just as almost all third world countries do. Where do the seeds of democracy grow on what furtile ground---nowhere outside Europe and North American. But then we don't have a true democracy, but something less. I don't feel my voice is really heard and few Americans do. The only real freedom is in the home, when you want into the street the heavy hand of government begins to regulate your life and yes, they are knocking at your door. The Iraqis are unhappy--- so are many, many Americans. Unhappiness seems to be catching when the government seeks to control more and more of our lives. Leave Iraq---I just don't know. But stay or leave some will be unhappy on both sides of the ocean.
