Gunz hit the nail on the head. Blackwater kills people and blows shit up for the right price. They’re very good at what they do. You pull them out and efficiency goes down — precisely because soldiers answer to politicians, and Blackwater answers to its paid directives. You want your principals safe? Blackwater’ll do it, guaranteed.

Very stupid move.

Blackwater is up the road a ways from where I sit as I write. We Tar Heels are proud of them AND the job they do. They have been taking up a lot of the slack left by the US Military after having been cut back so much as a part of the non-existant “Peace Dividend” after the Cold War. SOMEBODY has to do the job and with Blackwater gone… guess who will be placed in those extremely dangerius positions … but… without the freedom to accomplish their mission as Blackwater had. If you think it is an open invitation for more US casualties, you are absolutely right!

This is a MAJOR screw-up and SOMEBODY, in DC, had better bring the hammer down on the Maliki government and make them back off!

Cat, Un-American???? Hell it’s TOTALLY American these days, ask Murtha or Pelosi.

Blackwater is a merc. outfit and it is essential to this conflict, if they pull them out of Iraq, the US military is going to have a lot more casualties trying to do the job Blackwater was doing..For exactly the reson Gunz mentioned, PC…not a good thing.

The sentence that bothered me the most, was the quote: “The spokesman said witness reports pointed to Blackwater involvement but said the shooting was still under investigation.”
Sounds totally unAmerican and I feel it needs to investigated. After all, a trial before a charge?

The Iraqi’s can’t ‘control’ them like they can our troops, which is what it boils down to. That PC bullshit that generals have to pass down by direction of the CiC that keeps our troops too restrained from doing their job properly.

That’s dictated by the Iraqi government, Bush kisses al-Maliki’s ass way too much.

The Black Water guys have a little more freedom, and that burns the Iraqis ass.
