Has anyone saw the Navy commercial that says the Navy is a “Global Force for Good”??? The first time I saw that I wanted to puke!!! It seems in order to gain higher rank, some of the military leaders have sold their souls for 50 pieces of political correctness. I think about those precious lives lost at Ft. Bragg (I count the unborn child!!! 14!!!) and I wonder how some of these people can stand to look in the mirror????

Excellent article Fred, making an excellent point. I fear that this PC crap will filter down into boot camp, that is where the soldiers and sailors are made, where their foundations are created for their military career. Once our DS’s are forced to cut back, then that will spell trouble.

Beck was talking about just this thing the other day and said our military men were being used as props for our politicians. PCism is out-of-control and will be taken to even more extremes by this current administration. Like you Fred, I could care less about the color of the man in uniform, but our political leaders evidently do. Thanks for your post.

Here’s a good example of PC run amuck in the military. The Air Force changed the lyrics of its song “Air Force Blue” because it was construed as chauvinistic.

Here’s the lyrics for the original version:

First let me say this. In my 26 years of active duty, the men who have always looked the sharpest in uniform have usually been Blacks.

The men and women chosen to make up color guards for special events is usually made by merit. Many things are taken into consideration when the final ones are chosen. It’s a shame that gender and race are now in the mix. With the traditions involved, you can be sure all 28 members of the Color Guard were unhappy with what took place.
