I agree with you about Steele, he needs to show more character that goes along with his name. What the GOP needs now is more of a leader to bring in these so-called moderates. For Cao to vote for the health monstrosity with no Party repercussions is completely crazy.

If it were on some bill that only affected his district, or the part of the state his district was in, then okay. But Pelosicare can screw us all, and what he did was cowardly.

OK, now I think we’re on the same page Don, she probably can help the GOP, in many ways, but not as a candidate…

I still have a ton of issues with her quitting, and I have heard ALL of the reasons, and I still don’t like the fact that she quit, BUT, she does have some uses, if the GOP is smart enough to use her properly…

Now, proper, the GOP and common sense, those are totally different topics, and Michael Steele is a totally useless person in my opinion, and in the opinions of many others…

Fred, you are correct about that. I was just speaking to the misconceptions about her reasons for stepping down as Gov. of Alaska and the fact that the press excoriated her.

I would rather see someone else on the ticket, but that doesn’t mean she can’t help the Republican party, though.

Federal laws protecting a president are far different than state laws protecting a governor.

I would think you would be far more upset at the far left for attacking her. The MORNING AFTER McCain picked Palin, Obama’s campaign sent over 40 “investigative” journalists to try and tear her apart. To dig up dirt on her. Why? Because she is a strong, principled, conservative female. She was a threat to them then and still is now.

No, I have much more of a problem with the fact that any useful idiot could file a bogus ethics charge on her and not be responsible for the financial havoc it wreaks.

I applaud her for stepping down, that took a sh*tload of guts, knowing how she would be perceived. Knowing people would label her a quitter. But you know, doing the right thing isn’t always the easy thing.

Don’t you think the left will attack like rabid DOGS if Palin were elected POTUS? What the hell? It’s OK to throw up a loser that will be driven out of that office too? And WE, the American tax payers will be funding her crap at that time…

I won't try and talk you into changing your mind, that's your perogative, but, if she was your employee and she was costing you 2 million a year through no fault of her own, and she decided to quit Texas Fred's blog because she didn't want you to keep paying for frivolous bullshit from outside sources, would you still admonish her? Just asking, and not trying to be a SA. I know she's from over in Idaho and they DO talk funny over there. LOL Sarah Palin did not leave Alaska government “for no reason”

Fred, I can tell you why NO ONE wants to speak freely, clearly or truthfully anymore, and I can do it in two words:

FREE CHEESE.

The American electorate, the bulk of it, is only concerned with its Free Cheese. What can the “gubmint” GIVE ME?? is the rallying question from the great unwashed masses.

Politicians know this, and know that, without skyrocketing promises of MORE Free Cheese, they stand a snowball’s chance in Hell of acquiring much of any political seat.

The PEOPLE have brought this about; I believe every bit as much AS the politicians themselves.

The American electorate has lost its courage and is becoming more and more accustomed, through education, through youth, through the courts, of having their Free Cheese mindsets VALidated.

We’d best be talking, if we want to save this country, about a lot of NO! in our immediate future.

You know, Fred, any politician truly capable of saying NO! to the electorate?
