‘Minuteman’ Grandmother Draws Criticism
September 20th, 2007 . by TexasFredKANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – When the mayor named a 73-year-old grandmother to the city’s park board – which considers issues like off-leash dog areas and outdoor party permits – the move might have gone largely unnoticed.
But Frances B. Semler’s appointment could now cost the city millions of dollars because she is a member of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, a group that advocates vigilante patrolling of the Mexican border and reports illegal immigrants to authorities.
Her membership has drawn sharp criticism from the National Council of La Raza, the nation’s largest Hispanic advocacy group, and the NAACP. Both groups are threatening to show their displeasure by canceling conventions scheduled to be held in Kansas City.
“We see the Minutemen as an extremist group that espouses hate and vigilanteism and some violence,” said Janet Murguia, president of NCLR. “A member of such a group, no matter how upstanding in other ways, should have no place representing Kansas City.”

Something isn’t right when this can happen to an American Citizen for supporting those who call for lawful immigration into the United States. So far the mayor of Kansas City hasn’t backed down.
The NAACP needs to listen to its people in Kansas City who’ve gone on talk radio shows and told how they were replaced in their jobs by illegal immigrants who were willing to work for half wages. Many Blacks have gone on the radio to tell how they lost their jobs in the meat packing industry to illegals who would work for $7.50 per hour. The Americans who lost their jobs were getting paid $17.00 per hour. Funny though, we never saw the price of meat drop with they took on the cheap labor.
Yep, pick on 72 year old grandmothers, instead of on illegal criminals who are slowly destroying our country day by day.
The fact that this woman is a member of the Minutemen would make me want to vote for her as a city council rep, if I lived in KC, yet alone a position like the one the mayor appointed her to.
When you hear Mexican advocates of this nature, you can be assured of two things: 1) it’s ALL about entitlements, and 2) it’s ALL about Aztlan, “reconquista” and La Raza — “the race.” As if that isn’t RACIST enough. Most guilty white people are too stupid to know the truth.
