Gingrich Says No to White House Bid

September 29th, 2007 . by TexasFred

WASHINGTON (AP) – Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will not run for president in 2008 after determining he could not legally explore a bid and remain as head of his tax-exempt political organization, a spokesman said Saturday.

“Newt is not running,” spokesman Rick Tyler said. “It is legally impermissible for him to continue on as chairman of American Solutions (for Winning the Future) and to explore a campaign for president.”

Gingrich decided “to continue on raising the challenges America faces and finding solutions to those challenges” as the group’s chairman, Tyler said, “rather than pursuing the presidency.”

Only on Friday, Gingrich said he had given himself a deadline of Oct. 21 to raise $30 million for a possible White House and that the task was difficult, through not impossible.

Gingrich Says No to White House Bid

I’m pretty sure this has nothing to do with the fact that many conservative and some Repub sites were making fun of Mr. Newt for his ridiculous statement when he said if people would donate $30 million he’d think about running for POTUS, THINK about it for crying out loud…

Hell, for $30 million I’ll think about running for POTUS too, I’ll tell ya what, for $30 million I’ll even think about shutting down this blog as well, that’s bound to make a few folks on both sides of the aisle happy, right?? I mean, for $30 million thinking about it is the least I can do…

So, if you want me to think about running for POTUS and if you want me to think about shutting down TexasFred’s, let me know and I’ll open a PayPal account and once the $30 million is in the bank, I promise, I’ll think about it, a lot, no, really, I will…

And in MY opinion, this kind of cavalier attitude from Newt is why he won’t ever be POTUS, and that is a good thing in my opinion, I think

Wait, there’s no money in the account yet, I can’t think about it…

Newt has shown that is smart again, again & again. To remain as a “citizen activist” allows him lot’s of options for expanding his speaking engagements, books, & dollars. {He already knew this!} Announcing he wasn’t running if someone were more qualified, wasn’t running if Fred Thompson ran, was waiting to make a decision after the American Solutions event, was waiting to see “maybe” if people promised $30 million, and is now not running because someone told him exactly what he already knew to be true shows us again that NEWT is NEWT.

The question for some may be is NEWT smart? Is he being smart as a fox, smart intellectually as wise professor, smart as a student of history, etc., etc., or smart as a successful slick con-artist? You make the choice. I believe all of these are shadows in Newt’s character mix and define what we could call “NEWT smart.”

Thank goodness, conservatives will now not have to consider making-up supportive statements for a person most us wouldn’t trust near our wives or our bank accounts. I am glad NEWT first American Solution’s decision to resolve our dilemma was to just say NO to being a candidate.

Like the Republican field isn’t full of enough idiots, for 30 million bucks you could add one more? Sounds like a bargain if you’re a demorat…

BTW, I’m a lot cheaper than you I guess, I’d take ten grand and think about shutting down, probably wouldn’t do it… But I’d think about it.
My blog is worth too much to kill it for a measly 30 Mil, the muzzie tantrums, the wetback fumings and the libber strokes are priceless…..(At least to me)

The Newt is full of shit. He gets elected promising this great new idea of his, carrying around a copy of the Bill of Rights in his pocket. Then he goes and subverts the entire ideal. Things like term limits he was for – he’s now against.

Read Sen. Tom Coburn’s book “Breach of Faith”. It’s all about Gingrich and his “Contract with America” that wasn’t so much. Coburn was there as a Representative and tells the whole lousy story of Gingrich and his buddies.

Gingrich lost it for me when he went against Conservative Black Congressman, J.C. Watts for calling Jesse Jackson what he is, a “race hustling poverty pimp”.

Besides, Gingrich will take you down for cheating on your wife all the while he’s banging something on the side himself.

Newt has some good things to say but he’s two-faced.

I Herby nominate, for President of the United States of America, our very own Senator Blutauski, with Texas Fred as his running mate! :)
