Murtha was indeed, a Marine just like Lee Harvey Oswald who served from 1957-1959 and went on to shoot JFK a few years after leaving the service. Murtha will be remembered not as the Marine hero, but as the congressman who accused our fighting men of being war criminals—this will be his legacy. Not as infamous as Oswalds but just as lasting in the eyes of many, certainly those in service.

HAM, next time someone wants to bring up Murtha’s decorations and medals, remind them that Tim McVeigh was a decorated combat veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star.
