Maybe Palin can pull a 40 pound vacuum on a burlap sack....

sdkar, West's military career alone makes him far more qualified than Palin, Obama and pretty much anyone I can think of...

Well qualified military guys... You can't do much better...

I have looked up Allen West and I am wondering, isn't his career a little short to be considering POTUS?

Tell me if I am wrong, but are the days of the white male politician gone? It seems in order to avoid any criticism of being a racist or being labelled a RICH OLD WHITE GUY party, we have to have a minority or female in order to have an effective candidate?

I am starting to think that Joe Biden is the token white guy and the effective people in charge are the minorities/women. Obama, Holder, Pelosi, Hilary, etc. seem to be the order of the day. Don't get me wrong...if someone is the best qualified, then it doesn't matter their color or gender. But now, that seems to be the main focus. What happened to "judge a person by their character and not the color of their skin"?

I don't know about everyone else, but I am starting to feel like I don't want a minority/female in a position of power...not because I don't think they are fully qualified, but becasue I don't want to be accused of being a sexist or racist when I criticize those in charge. And I mean criticize for doing a lousy job...not for any other reason. I want to shy away from voting for such a candidate for that reason. But then again, it seems that if we don't put a minority/female candidate forward, we don't have a chance of winning. What do you guys think? Am I wrong to some degree or completely wrong?

Maybe Palin is the GOP hopeful because we are scared to put another white guy on the ticket against a minority. Is our country so self-loathing about our past treatment of women and minorities that this has become almost a requirement for our leaders? What a horrible way to atone for the past.

I do know that a lot of people voted for Obama because he was "the same as them" and for no other reason. Was this the percentage of the vote that pushed Obama into the winner's circle?

If that is the case, than I think it is lousy that we have to think like this. Today, the minority gets the job over the white guy and the minority gets a seat in college over the white guy too. Maybe that has become the line of thinking all the way up to the highest job in the country.

However, if the top jobs in our country are now full of minorities and women, can we get rid of affirmative action since obviously its not needed anymore? Heck, if anything, it seems the white guy needs more help getting ahead.

Of course, I suppose I am now a racist for mentioning the above.

Palin campaigning for McCain, a Progressive RINO, is enough to label her "part of the problem". The RNC not backing Allen West is enough for me to think of THEM as part of the problem as well. Pressure needs to be applied to the RNC daily! If they don't "get it" before the elections this fall, we will be screwed.

As far as women in politics goes, there are some strong ones. Michelle Bachmann comes to mind, and I have the highest respect for Carly Forina (not a politician, but rather the woman who brought Hewlett Packard from the red ink to the black ink!) who I hope to see take Babs Boxer OUT!!!! Do I think America is ready for a female POTUS... nope. We need to have someone in that position that the entire world will take seriously.

Just read the link on LT Col West. He's very impressive, guess we'll see where the road takes him. Looks pretty good for him if he should want it........

Ron, I'm really hoping the Conservatives start pushing someone out front SOON to gain recognition & I'm afraid they think Palin's the answer. Hope they consider backing more than one person, they stand to lose alot of votes w/ Palin. I just think they need to get busy and get their stuff together now.

I like DeMint but I'd like ANYBODY who was a true Conservative & had wisdom, enforce changes, smaller govt, military expertise etc. I dont like fickle ppl or quitters. That's what Sarah is, I dont think she should be out front, I have a bad feeling about this. If you have alot of "friends" post to read, its amazing how many ppl are really behind her. Yikes.....

I seen clips of Col Allen West and he certainly appears to be the real thing. Annie Oakley, I've noticed Senator Jim DeMint and like you have seen nothing so far not to my taste. I'm sure this time around a good man or woman will step to the plate. The primary season in 2012 should be interesting to say the least.

I understand why you would want Lt Col Allan West but I don't think he's even running, or is he??
Just a suggestion. True Patriotic Conservatism would come from Sen Jim DeMint. He seems to be the answer and I still cannot find a flaw!

I've listened to a few of Lt Col Wests speeches and so far, he has me shouting for glory. Not many officers would sacrifice their career for their men. This man risked all he worked for to take care of his men. And, last I knew, the RNC isn't supporting him.
