Just a few of things I want to say here and let everyone know, the first being, I won’t be sending out any more email notifications that there are new polls up on TexasFred’s Non-Scientific Polling Place…
Some folks don’t like being emailed and that’s OK too, from now on if anyone wants to visit the polling site they can click the logo here or on any of the other fine sites that are displaying the logo and supporting TexasFred’s Non-Scientific Polling Place, or the poll site can die, and at this point, I really don’t care one way or the other if it does…
I have had MANY folks send me emails recently, some of them were not too damn nice either, mostly they are complaining that I wasn’t using the EXACT answer option that they wanted used or the question(s) I used didn’t cover the issues the way THEY felt it should, or in one instance, they took issue with ME over ONE word that was used in a question, just because they didn’t like the word, and to those folks I say this, start your own polling site, and then you can do it any way you please…
Some folks have emailed me saying, or asking, and asking quite nicely too I must say, but saying that I needed to add another answer option or 2 to a particular question, AFTER they had seen the poll up on the site, just so all of you know, that is impossible, Google and Blogger have an over-ride built in that allows for NO changes to be made to a poll once a vote has been cast, and that is as it should be…
As the title of the site says, TexasFred’s Non-Scientific Polling Place, it’s non-scientific, I’m not a professional pollster or writer, I write some of the questions, I use some of the good questions sent to me by my readers, and to those that DO send questions, I truly appreciate your efforts, but I have more than a few people that are BITCHING at me over questions and answer options, and the ones DOING the bitching have never sent in a question and set of answer options, all they do is bitch about the ones I do have…
New poll notifications will be posted on this blog, if you do want to participate in the poll blog, that’s great, and I do appreciate it, if you don’t want to participate, that’s good too, it’s your choice and I am ALL for that, but DON’T send me your BITCH mail, once a question is up, it’s THERE and there’s nothing I can do to change it other than to delete it, and that wouldn’t be fair to those that have voted, their vote would be lost simply because someone wants the process changed to make them happy, and that is NOT going to happen, if you want a certain question and set of answer options used, send them to me via email, if they are good, I promise you, I will use them, but if you can’t abide by that one minor consideration, too bad, you have NO right to BITCH at ME over questions and answers…
I have in NO WAY limited ANY participation in the polling process by anyone, right, left or otherwise, this has been done as fairly as a poll site could possibly done and it IS totally anonymous, I have NO idea who votes or what their personal answers are…
I can’t make everyone happy, not everyone is going to like the questions and/or answer options, but if you can’t help out and be a part of the solution, don’t contribute to the very few problems this site has had, but rest assured, I won’t be using email for notifications any longer, I won’t intrude on anyones privacy, you can check here for NEW poll questions if you’re interested in participating in the polling…
I actually rather like the questions, and options. :/ But hey, that’s just me.
That’s a shame Fred. Some days I get quite a chuckle, some days I learn something. If I don’t see what I think is a correct answer for me, I come back another time. That rarely happens.
Anyway, I am glad it’s there.
Kate and Jo, it’s not you, and it’s NOT 99% of the folks on my extensive email list, and the folks asking nicely for changes, that’s not a problem either, they just need to know, once it’s up and a vote is cast, I can’t change the poll in ANY way…
I’m just tired of the PRICKS that have nothing better to do than run their stupid heads and BITCH about something that they don’t help or support to begin with…
They KNOW who they are, and the can go fu*k themselves for all I care…
I just won’t be emailing anyone about polls from now on, if the regulars don’t know by now, well, ’nuff said…
I think the polling site is great. I occasionally have a good Idea and send a question. I get a kick out of seeing what others think about something.
Just toss an “other” on the end for those who can’t handle the question as it’s written. Maybe they can handle that as an option.
Shoot Fred, if you let some people write the questions and post them, they will still find fault. Sometimes no matter what you do, you’ll never make some people happy.
I like the poll and look forward to its questions and peoples answers.
Gawdamit Fred, now what? I used to like the emails, I have no friends and getting the “poll questions” email gave me hope that there were others out there…LMAO
Ok well, you and I agree on a lot of things and this is NO different. Good for you for putting it out so everyone can see your point.
It’s kind of like the community meetings I attend regularly, there are always a few that want to bitch and moan about everything, yet when asked “What are you willing to do to fix it?” They say: “I work and have no time”, or some other BS….
I think what you said about being part of the solution is not only good for the blogworld, it is A REAL LIFE need in this time.
Keep up the polling Fred, I very much appreciate your efforts, I like that you are trying to gauge the feeling of those that read blogs and news, and actually care about something other than OURSELVES….
Leave it to a few idiots to screw things up! I always like getting the emails — I get busy and sometimes forget to vote in the polls, until my son reminds me (he LOVES to visit the polling blog!)…..
Then again, we all get idiots with nothing more to do than complain, moan and b****. Like I once told someone who complained because I wouldn’t post their moonbat crap on my Comments section — if ya don’t like it, get your own site
