Iraqis May Offer US Deal to Stay Longer

November 26th, 2007 . by TexasFred

BAGHDAD (AP) – Iraq’s government, seeking protection against foreign threats and internal coups, will offer the U.S. a long-term troop presence in Iraq in return for U.S. security guarantees as part of a strategic partnership, two Iraqi officials said Monday.

The proposal, described to The Associated Press by two senior Iraqi officials familiar with the issue, is one of the first indications that the United States and Iraq are beginning to explore what their relationship might look like once the U.S. significantly draws down its troop presence.

In Washington, President Bush’s adviser on the Iraqi war, Lt. Gen. Douglas Lute, confirmed the proposal, calling it “a set of principles from which to begin formal negotiations.”

As part of the package, the Iraqis want an end to the current U.N.-mandated multinational forces mission, and also an end to all U.N.-ordered restrictions on Iraq’s sovereignty.

In a televised address Monday, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said his government will ask the U.N. to renew the mandate for the multinational force for one final time, with its authorization to end in 2008. He insisted that the U.N. remove all restrictions on Iraqi sovereignty.

Iraqis May Offer US Deal to Stay Longer

‘We want you to stay here in Iraq, and by all means, continue to pour BILLIONS of your Yankee Infidel dollars into our corrupt government, and your infidel troops may continue to die for our ungrateful selves as you provide us with the security we are so unable to provide for ourselves, but we will not allow you, or anyone else to tell us what to do, thank you very much!’…

I think that’s a fairly accurate translation of what al-Maliki really said…

If Iraq wants sovereignty then by God lets give it to them, let them stand on their own and defend themselves, on their own dime, they have vast oil resources, they can easily afford to pay their own way, that has been my contention all along, Iraq can have all the sovereignty that money can buy, and their basically corrupt government can be overthrown by an even more evil government and Iraq will, in a short time, become what Iraq was before we went in on this seriously confusing mission and deposed Saddam for whatever the current excuse from the Bush administration is…

Iraq is still one of the most insignificant places on earth, with the exception of Somalia and a few other similar places, and if they didn’t have oil they’d be as useless AS Somalia, democracy, and certainly no republic will ever survive in this environment, freedom is an incomprehensible idea to the average Iraqi and as long as Iraq is an Islamic nation, democracy will not happen, I don’t care how much Bush and the Bot Squad say it will, it’s nothing more than a pipe dream and the current excuse for taking us into Iraq when there was NO real reason to go…

Iraq wants to ‘offer us a deal’?? Great, here’s the deal, WE run Iraq for the next 10 years, WE get all the oil we want and/or need, and we pay you $10 a barrel, for the next 10 years, and in exchange, we’ll teach you and yours how a democracy actually works and we’ll provide you with protection from threats against your security, from all enemies, foreign and domestic, and we all have what we want and need…

Yeah, like any of that is going to happen…

I’ll take it one step further, make it our 51st state.

Build a military presence that is second to none and load them with NUKES.

Turn all oil fields over to Exxon and other American Oil Companies. Open Iraq up to only American Companies and start building, put the Iraqi’s to work and pay them well. Build malls, housing tracks, schools, hospitals, roads, and highways, water treatment plants and Military Bases, everywhere. Open it up to tourism let Disney build some parks. Do away with Islamic Rule and allow the people to be free, completely free.

Make it the Gem of the Middle East.

In other words, stop fucking around with these people.

Within 10 years, once the rest of the people in the Middle East saw how they could be living, our enemies would fail and fall.

This is not that far-fetched to me. Hell we’re there, lets enjoy it.

Talk about making the World a better place.

More positives on making Iraq part of the United States by Bill Cusack.

Many problems will be instantly solved. There will be no question of “When do we bring the troops home?” They will be home. What politician wouldn’t want to take credit for bringing home the troops? Whenever we send troops to Iraq in the future we’ll be sending them home.

Every Iraqi can have full U.S. citizenship, which means the right to carry guns and form militias. They’ll just be good ‘ol Americans diggin’ on their constitutional rights. They’ll have free speech, separation of church and state, freedom of religion, the whole kit and kaboodle.

The biggest prize of all is their oil, which is nice. Think about this for a second: we will no longer be dependent on foreign oil markets. We can start pumping at capacity and really start partying. OPEC? We’ll be a member of OPEC- and a member with a pretty big stick. How much would Dubya and Cheney like to send a representative to those meetings? Can you feel Cheney’s heart ready to burst just thinking about it? We can build pipelines, ports — whatever is required — and settle into our SUVs again without having to worry.

It sounds better and better all the time.

Yeah, but one downside not mentioned, if we make Iraq a state then the damned tree huggers will automatically want to stop ALL drilling and production, stop any and all pipeline construction, it must be BAD for something, camels maybe??

And the air pollution has to go too, you know the damned tree huggers, they are the biggest part of the reason we’re already screwed on oil production here in the USA, and if Iraq was to become USA, well, can we legalize shooting Green Peace members?? :?

My gosh. I read that, then re-read it. And I have to hand it to you, Ranando, I wish I’d thought of that myself. That, in my own little demented mind, actually makes sense. I’m slapping my forehead right now, aghast at how simple that really is. I’m stunned. . .

Yup, the Enviro-Nazis will be campaigning to “Save The Sand Fleas”. The jerks in Congress will declare he Sand Flee an endangered species and then all production and construction in Iraq will stop.
