I cannot see how anyone at this stage of the game can say that this war was or is being fought "smartly". We were promised some shock and awe and what we saw was a piss poor attempt at a fireworks show.

If we are truly fighting this war and one of the fronts is Iraq, then why the hell is Sadr still drinking tea? These guys, the "real" terrorists are watching this, the politics and mamby pamby pussy footin' around and they are laughing at us.

And I do not understand how it is possible for a REAL conservative at this time to still stand behind Bush. I don't hate the guy but I sure as hell wouldn't cast a vote for him if I had that choice to make today.

NAFTA indeed.

Amen to that. If we ALL thought the way the Amy's of the world wanted us to think Iraq would look much worse than it does today, and it's still an ugly motherfucker no matter how much makeup you try to apply to it. These car bombs is a good example of that.

I'll have to refer to an earlier comment I made on how I truly feel about the Amy's of the world made in a previous post of yours which echo your thoughts in this post quite a bit:

http://texasfred.net/archives/839

I'm of the opinion that 'WE' are helping this war effort in Iraq if anything, if the 'Little Prince' thought his plan was working and his numbers in the 60- 70% range before the surge then he wouldn't of changed a damn thing.

He'd thought he was still a genius, with no incentive to reconsider how the war was being fought. So, with that said it's been the Amy's of the world that are dangerous and have hurt this war by believing everything was just all in the grand scheme of things and a 'just be patient' type of mentality.

Bullshit! Our patience has grown thin, the people spoke and the Democrats took control of congress as a result of it. It's the Amy's of the world that contributed to the demise of the Republican party hanging on Bush's coat tails and never wanting to let go because to do so would be unpatriotic?

The Amy's of the world, or Bush bots, are self destructive, and it was the great numbers of people like us that brought the criticism, debated, and blogged about this war or how it was being fought primarily, it's what brought about the surge that is showing signs of some success.

The Amy's of the world had nothing to do with that IMO, it was public opinion that influenced a change in strategy... You know, the people Amy and her cronies like to crucify.
