That is got to be the most upsetting thing i have seen in a while. I agree that no one can truley put a price on suffering, but this….. This is stupid.

I can only hang my head at the way people act. What these people need to remember is that other people in the us are suffering also, and not just from hurricans. What about the fires in california. What next are they going to start a lawsuit for lack of fire protection.

I don’t know about Japan, but in Britain it is the so-called English Rule, which requires the losing party to pay the winner’s legal costs, including lawyers’ fees.

Seems like there is some merit, especially in the frivolous cases. But the lawyers are still getting paid either way which is not always a good thing.

Not sure if this is true but I’ve head that in Japan if your file a lawsuit and loose, you’re responsible for all court costs along with any expenses accrued by the party you tried to sue. We need that in this country.

PSTD??? They’re no different than any other person in this country that’s lost their house to fire or any other natural disaster. The other day in Missouri we had Tornado’s and quite a few folks lost everything. Last year a whole town in Kansas was devastated by Tornado’s. You don’t see those people whining and crying like the entitlement generation in New Orleans.
