LOS ANGELES (AP) – A day of mostly calm immigration rallies around the nation ended with a clash in Los Angeles where officers fired rubber bullets and used batons against demonstrators. Police promised to review the use of force.
Several people, including about a dozen officers, were hurt during skirmishes at MacArthur Park near downtown late Tuesday. About 10 people were taken to hospitals for treatment of injuries including cuts, authorities said. None of the injuries was believed to be serious.

I’m pretty sure there will be a civilian review board look this over and decide that the L.A. cops probably just weren’t nice, and lacked being polite enough and therefore are just going to have to go thru sensitivity training regarding the proper way to deal with ILLEGAL invaders causing problems in America…

Organizers said fear about raids and frustration that the marches haven’t pushed Congress to pass reform kept many people at home. They said those who did march felt a sense of urgency to keep immigration reform from being overshadowed by the 2008 presidential elections.
The clash at MacArthur Park started after 6 p.m. when police tried to disperse demonstrators who had moved off the sidewalk onto the street. Authorities said several people of the few thousand still at the rally threw rocks and bottles at officers, who fired rubber bullets and used batons to push the crowd back onto the sidewalk.
For the very life of me, I can’t figure out our own government, WHY were there NOT serious raids conducted by INS, ICE and the Border Patrol?? Why do these ILLEGALS even have a right to parade and protest?? Why are they not rounded up and deported?? What part of ILLEGAL is this nation missing?? Â
Yeah, I know, there’s always 2 sides to a story but the only side I am concerned with is the one that says these people are ILLEGALS, they are a drain on our resources, our economy, our schools, our medical facilities, our everything…
And I am concerned about what status George W. Bush will GIVE these bastards, along with the help of the Dems in Congress and the Senate, and I am pretty sure that the only thing that has kept it from happening already is the ‘lovers spat’ Bush is having with his Dem buddies, as soon as they settle their differences on the Iraq funding, look out, it’s back to giving the USA away to any asshat that can stumble in here and carry a picket sign…
I’m not some bleeding heart lefty that’s willing to give this nation away, these people are ILLEGALS, they have no rights but they are trying to incite a revolution in this nation, they are trying to force the American people and this nation to bend to their way of life, not vice versa, and they are more than willing to use violence to accomplish their goals…
I say if they want a fight, let’s give them one, and lets do it now, we didn’t start this fight, but if the government of the USA won’t defend our great nation, then by God, it’s time for American patriots to rise to the occasion…

Police to Review Clash at May Day Rally
Correct me if I am wrong, but by being illegal invaders doesn’t that make them criminals to begin with? When did our federal/state/city officils decide that criminals had the right to hold organized protests in the streets IN FAVOR OF their crime? ‘Only in America’ right?

LAPD is an upside-down organization despite the presence of Bratton. In 1991, LAPD got slammed for its “over-reaction” regarding Rodney King. Following the subsequent riots post the Simi Valley verdict, LAPD was then accused of “under-reaction.” It didn’t know whether to shit or go blind. It then sustained the PC regimes of Willie Williams and Bernard Parks. LAPD also lost the carotid restriction (known as the “choke hold”). Their pursuits were the butt of most other law enforcement agencies because the agency, for many, many years, refused to allow PIT.
In a city of nearly 4 million persons, the LAPD now and historically has had the smallest amount of officers per million population of any American large city. Despite being the 3rd largest city, LAPD runs roughly between 9,300 and 9,600 officers, give or take. If LAPD had the same per-person ratio as NYPD, for example, an additional 16,000 officers would have to be hired.
I know from personal experience that LAPD and its officers tend to have a bit of a “bunker mentality,” but that primarily stems from their inability to field adequate personnel, combined with the largest number of gang members in the nation — and now, having to deal with MS13. LAPD also has a civilan review board and a city council which, on its best day, is adamantly anti-LAPD — along with all forms of surrounding media.
It is customary for LAPD officers to be stalked and shot at on-duty and off duty. Numerous officers have been assassinated by gang members, followed to their homes and literally executed. It is a wonder that, under these brutal conditions, LAPD manages to still conduct its work and maintain a presence on the streets.
In summary, LAPD is gun shy, from any number of current and historical issues. They face a future, like most of law enforcement, where the potential gene pool of qualified applicants, much less those who qualify but will still put up with shift work, a paramilitary academy, strange days off and no holidays, is dwindling by the month. Many officers are examining their place in the scheme of politics and concluding that it is frequently better to keep one’s job and survive (physically and politically) to see retirement than to make a decision, arrest or use of force that may not only result in punitive action but, further, jeopardize their job or even result in criminal prosecution in re the recent USBP officers.
Bottom line? We are getting the kind of law enforcement we deserve.

I want to stand up and take back my country, my state, and especially my town, but I’m not willing to go to jail. If the Govt is willing to put Border Patrol agents in jail for doing their job, imagine what will happen to ordinary Joe Citizen. The fear of being sent to prison and being surrounded by even more mexicans than I am now is a strong deterrant.
If any of you, (or ANYBODY for that matter) have *any* idea, *any* sliver of hope, I’m willing to listen. Unfortunately, from what I’ve seen over the last 30 years, there is no hope. That is the most depressing thing of all, that there is no hope. As far as illegal invaders go, this country is toast. Done. Finito. NO MAS. ADIOS. Pretty soon we’ll have to “Press 2 for English”. Thank God I probably won’t be around for that.
