John McCain is Bob Dole minus the charm, conservatism and youth. Like McCain, pollsters assured us that Dole was the most “electable” Republican. Unlike McCain, Dole didn’t lie all the time while claiming to engage in Straight Talk.
Of course, I might lie constantly too, if I were seeking the Republican presidential nomination after enthusiastically promoting amnesty for illegal aliens, Social Security credit for illegal aliens, criminal trials for terrorists, stem-cell research on human embryos, crackpot global warming legislation and free speech-crushing campaign-finance laws.
I might lie too, if I had opposed the Bush tax cuts, a marriage amendment to the Constitution, waterboarding terrorists and drilling in Alaska.
And I might lie if I had called the ads of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth “dishonest and dishonorable.”
McCain angrily denounces the suggestion that his “comprehensive immigration reform” constituted “amnesty” — on the ludicrous grounds that it included a small fine. Even the guy who graduated fifth from the bottom of his class at the U.S. Naval Academy didn’t fall for this a few years ago.
In 2003, McCain told The Tucson Citizen that “amnesty has to be an important part” of any immigration reform. He also rolled out the old chestnut about America’s need for illegals, who do “jobs that American workers simply won’t do.”

‘Straight Talk’ Express Takes Scenic Route to Truth
You either love her or you hate hate her, there is NO in between, Ann Coulter lays it out there like no one else, and she just nailed John McCain’s ass to a tree…
I have a couple of buddies that support John McCain, I mean fervently support him, not quite to the level that the moonbats support Ron Paul, but these guys are seriously into their support of McCain, and for the life of me, I do NOT understand why, both seem to be really nice guys, intelligent, personable, all the things that McCain isn’t, I would have thought they would have seen through McCain by now…
McCain is an tired, worn out, old, angry little man and he suffers from, in my opinion, long term PTSD, I’m not saying this to denigrate his service to the nation in time of war, but I see these things in McCain, confusion, anger, an ‘everyone is out to get me’ syndrome, things like that, and as such, I feel that McCain’s Vietnam experiences, and what I believe to be long term PTSD, may very well be the major reason that we DON’T need him in the White House…
Not to mention the FACT that, speaking strictly politics, McCain is a lot closer to being a Democrat than he EVER was to being a Republican, McCain personifies the term RINO, Republican In Name Only…
The facts speak for themselves, McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, amnesty, is THIS the guy the Republicans want to be President?? If so, then the Repubs are exactly what I have been calling them for quite some time, Dem-Lite…
Referring to McCain as a Conservative is an insult to ALL Conservatives, and just to go on the record, I hope McCain falls flat on his face way before the RNC convention, but, I have a prediction to make, and I hope I’m wrong, but IF McCain gets the Republican nomination, look for Joe Lieberman to be his running mate…
Yeah, I know, that’s one of those ‘way out there’ predictions but the person that said it to me has said many things like this over all the years I have known her, and she’s been about 95% correct most of the time, and this time she has scared me, she honestly believes that a McCain-Lieberman ticket is a very real possibility…
H/T to Kate at An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings, I saw this on her blog and just knew I needed to post it here and stir up some crap…

AMEN, and AMEN! I have been preaching this since 2000.
Longstreet
And NO one can stir up the crap like you do! LOL
Thank ya sir!
Do you recall the amnesty RAMDOWN, where McCain tried to run his package COVERTLY through the Senate on, essentially, the weekend? When his little charade was exposed by BLOGS and the INTERNET, he essentially called us all assholes for DARING to thwart HIM. It wasn’t about the PACKAGE, it was about HIM. We dared to go against HIM. That lit me up like a match to a pool of gasoline. I vowed since: nothing for McCain. If he’s the only name on the ballot for the GOP side come November. . .
BZ
Yep and although I am now kinda ashamed to admit it I was supporting him instead of Bush a few years ago.
Ann is right on the money with McCain.
McCain is too cozy with Democrats and I believe he would pick Lieberman as a running mate if he got the GOP nomination, and why not? Republicans have been gushy towards Lieberman because of his support of the War in Iraq. They’ve managed to overlook his liberal views on just about everything else and that he was Gore’s running mate in 2000. Why, even the Connecticut Republican Party supported him in his independent reelection bid in 2004. They even went against the Republican candidate to support Lieberman.
McCain: I’d ‘entertain’ Democratic VP slot

Speaking of McCain, has anyone ever been kicked out of the Republican party?
There have been times when I liked what I saw with McCain, but much of that went away after his challenge to Bush went tits up in 2000. I separated my admiration for his war record from his pseudo-populist political waffling. He seems to shift from one side to the other of an issue based on what position is expedient. He tries to be the guy in the middle to win the votes of the middle ground voters. A RINO through and through. It’s just sad that THIS is what we have to choose from, but we’ve been over that.
The media push who they want to the top. It really doesn’t matter what we think. Ann Coulter has McCain Nailed.
Keep blogging on the issues. If we get the candidate we want then we better be sure we get the agenda we want.
