1. I’m with Ranando. Bombing run after bombing run, right into ALL the fields. Level them ALL.

2. Afghanistan is inexorably linked to Pakistan, separated by treacherous mountain ranges. And Pakistan is a tinderbox waiting to be lighted, possessing nukes. The worst of all possible scenarios.

If Bush and company had bothered to take a look at the history of Afghanistan they would have seen that nobody has been able to control the tribesmen for any length of time…the Brits got their butts kicked bad a couple of times by the Afghanis and the Russians found that they couldn’t take them either..and that is just recent history..

I figure the best we can hope for there is to contain the extremists. To take them out means taking out several million people and the left wing at home and world opinion..which I could give a rat’s ass about..precludes the current crop of politicians doing that.
