L.A. Times editorial board endorses McCain

Breaks a 36-year hiatus in selecting candidates for the Democratic and Republican presidential nominations.

Obama for the Democratic nomination and Sen. John McCain in the Republican race, ending a 36-year presidential endorsement hiatus.

The endorsements come just days before California joins 23 other states in Tuesday’s coast-to-coast lineup of nominating contests in races that remain intensely.

The endorsements — to be published Sunday — were posted online at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Though the board “strongly endorsed” Obama, its backing of McCain was more nuanced, citing disagreements with him over such issues as the war in Iraq, gay rights and abortion.

But it lauded the Arizona senator and Vietnam War hero for his approach to immigration reform, his opposition to the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and the use of torture, and for his overall approach to foreign affairs.

The Times editorial board endorses McCain, Obama

Does there need to be ANY further discussion into the hard left liberalism of John McCain?? I think not, what we have here is a very far left leaning MSM paper, LAT, endorsing the 2 most liberal people to run for POTUS in modern times…

Libs supporting Libs and RINO-Libs, McCain is the golden geriatric of the MSM, how much more liberal can you get??

All the more reason to either vote for Romney or find a third party candidate. There is no difference between the two parties anymore — and this election is a perfect example.
Romney’s the better of the three we have left in the Republican party. I’ve already written off Hucksterbee – don’t know why he’s even still there, unless it’s to take the evangelical votes from Romney….

I watch Jay Leno and he seems to be pushing McCain too. When Liberals push a “Republican”, that should tell us something.

Since 90% of the media is liberally biased, how could any conservative take the recommendations of these groups. Of course they are recommending the person they would rather settle with. Of course they are thinking of their interests and preferences. There is no way they would even hint toward a real conservative.
Look it LAT is making a recommendation for the first time you can bet that they are worried about their liberal objectives. You could also bet that they are trying to make every effort to protect their political persuasions. John McCain isn’t near LEFT enough but he sure would be a welcome sight for sorry eyes.
