Hackers take over law enforcement websites

BOSTON (AP) – Hackers have taken over the websites of several law enforcement agencies worldwide in attacks attributed to the collective called Anonymous, including in Boston and in Salt Lake City, where police say personal information of confidential informants and tipsters was accessed.

The Utah hackers gained access Tuesday to sensitive data, including citizen complaints about drug crimes, including phone numbers, addresses and other personal information, police said.

I see stories like the above, and this:

Hackers intercept FBI, Scotland Yard call

LONDON (AP) — They trade jokes, chuckle and talk shop about a hacker plot called “Project Mayhem.”

But at the heart of the conference call between the FBI and Scotland Yard was a strategy aimed at bringing down the hacking collective known as Anonymous, which has launched a series of embarrassing attacks across the Internet.

Hackers intercept FBI, Scotland Yard call

And I have to ask myself; what are WE, The People worried about? Please bear with me as this post develops, it’s about to take an unexpected turn to the idea of American freedom, rights of the American citizen and the encroachment thereof.

First, the First Amendment; I have exercised my right to Free Speech for several years now, and so far, no one has knocked on MY door and taken me to The FEMA Camps that I hear so many of both sides of the political spectrum voice their paranoia over.

There are NO FEMA re-education camps. They existed in the minds of Bush and Cheney hating Liberals and within the minds of so-called Conservatives that hate Obama and are simply recycling the paranoia of the left, the paranoia that so many openly made fun of and severely criticised not too long ago.

I’m not saying that some government entity can’t just pull the plug and turn off the WWW, but if they did, whoever THEY may be, the entire world economic markets would collapse.

The second thing on my mind is The Second Amendment and the massive paranoia that exists in MANY minds on the RIGHT side of politics; those that fear having their guns and ammo taken away from them.

I see posts on various blogs, in emails from friends and readers, on Facebook and the like, stating a real fear that Barack Hussein Obama will issue an Executive edict that makes ALL guns illegal and demanding that Americans proceed to some as yet to be named place to turn in their guns and ammo.

So? What if he did?

If YOU don’t go to this as yet to be named gathering site and turn in YOUR guns and ammo, what’s going to happen then?

Nothing, that’s what!

Do you think the Obama forces are going to go door to door across this nation demanding that you give them your guns? Seriously?

There might be those connected to Obama that would try to enforce a suspension of the Constitution and our God given rights, but here’s why I don’t think it will work, and I have stated this in several posts in the past, so, let me state it once again.

And this time, pay attention.

Iraq and Afghanistan are each about the same size, in land area, as is the state of Texas.

Bringing the military might of the United States to bear in those nations has yet to disarm or pacify either. Do you see my point?

If you need any further proof that the mass paranoia of BOTH sides is totally unfounded, re-read the 2 stories that inspired this post. The federal government can’t secure itself and stop some bunch of Anonymous HACKERS from taking them down at every opportunity.

How can THEY, again, whoever THEY may be, stop Americans from speaking freely or owning guns unless Americans roll over and surrender?

Well, it’s been at least 48 hours since someone called me a knuckle dragging, Neanderthal NAZI racist. I guess I’m just not trying hard enough. Here is a re-post from last year about Black History Month, I re-post the same article every year.

Nothing has changed in MY estimation! Enjoy…

Time to end Black History Month? 2012

Should Black History Month itself fade into history?

Many have long argued that African-American history should be incorporated into year-round education. Now, claims that Black History Month is outdated are gaining a new potency, as schools diversify their curricula and President Barack Obama’s election opens a new chapter in the nation’s racial journey.

“If Obama’s election means anything, it means that African-American history IS American history and should be remembered and recognized every day of the year,” says Stephen Donovan, a 41-year-old lawyer.

Ending “paternalistic” observances like Black History Month, Donovan believes, would lead to “not only a reduction in racism, but whites more ready and willing and able to celebrate our difference, enjoy our traditions, without feeling the stain of guilt that stifles frank dialogue and acceptance across cultures.”

Full Story Here:
Time to end Black History Month?

End Black History month? African-American history?

What needs to end is ANY reference to hyphenated-American ANYTHING. The Black community calls it ‘Black History Month’ when it’s convenient but the article immediately goes to the African-American reference. I seriously doubt that even 5% of the Blacks in America are African, so, WHY do we insist on this politically correct BS by using an incorrect terminology? African-American? I don’t think so.

The majority of MY family came from England, France and Germany, they migrated to Canada and eventually to Mississippi and Louisiana. I am NOT a European-American. I am an AMERICAN, nothing more, nothing less.

Blacks in America have made great contributions to this nation. Hispanics have made great contributions to this nation. Asians have made great contributions to this nation, as have Europeans and any other group that came here, save perhaps the moonbat Muslims.

I have a serious problem with Blacks being given a ‘Black History Month’, I find it offensive, I find it very racial as a matter of fact, and I feel discriminated against.

What would Blacks call it if we had ‘White History Month’? Anyone want to venture a guess there?? I already KNOW what would happen. $harpton and Je$$ie Jack$on would be on the march. The NAACP would be filing suit and there would be uprisings all over this USA, because WHITE people want to celebrate THEIR history and heritage with a dedicated and specific month.

I have always heard it said, ‘if you’re not part of the solution, you are a part of the problem’, and those are some very powerful words. America is supposedly ‘the melting pot of the world’. Yet far too many races and various nationalities seek to change America into a clone of the land and culture they left to come here. If their homeland and culture was so great, why did they come to America in the 1st place? And if America isn’t now their HOMELAND, how can they attach the title AMERICAN after ANY hyphenated name?

I ask you, just WHO are the real racists and bigots? Damn if I can remember getting so much as one penny for college from the United Caucasian College Fund. If we don’t all believe that we are equal, if we don’t ALL participate in the celebration of AMERICAN history, then we are nothing more than what I fear we are so very close to becoming, an America reminiscent of the Balkans, with the ethnic cleansing that will be a certainty.

Yeah, I know, I’m a racist. Go ahead and say it, I hear it ALL the time. But the fact of the matter is this, I am as proud of being a WHITE American as any Black person is of being a Black American. I’m as proud of American history, even the bad times, as is any American. ALL Americans should be proud of OUR history, but when I stand and express MY pride, I am labeled a racist.

If I was the one that called for an end to ‘Black History Month’, if I was the one that founded WHITE Entertainment Network, if I was the one that started an all WHITE, United White Folks College Fund, I would be castigated all over the blogosphere as the most vile bigot alive. Why is it that only WHITE people can be labeled as racists?

America 1st, for AMERICANS. And if you don’t consider yourself to be an AMERICAN, and nothing else, then this is not your home! You are nothing more than a visitor and it’s time for you to go to whatever nation it is that you consider to be your home. I’m sure they will welcome you with open arms.

EAGAN, Minn. (AP) – Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney, confident after his Florida primary victory, ended up inviting criticism Wednesday when he said he’s “not concerned about the very poor” because they have an “ample safety net.”

Democrats and Republicans alike pounced and the GOP front-runner quickly sought to explain his remarks.

“No, no, no, no, no, no, no,” Romney told reporters on his campaign plane when asked about the comments. “No, no, no. You’ve got to take the whole sentence, all right, it’s mostly the same.” He said his remark was consistent with his theme throughout the race, adding: “My energy is going to be devoted to helping middle-income people.”

Despite that explanation, Romney’s comments quickly became an immediate distraction from his message that he’s more conservative than chief rival Newt Gingrich and from the double-digit thumping the former House speaker sustained in Florida. His campaign worked behind the scenes to provide context for the comment.

Full Story Here:
Romney: Not focused on poor, they have safety net

We have an ample safety net? Really? Pray tell what might that safety net be exactly?

As most of my readers know, I am retired on a fixed income. My wife works but she’s one of those under-employed that we hear so much about. She had her really great paying job phased out a while back, they outsourced, then she ended up with a job almost as good but after a few years that job ended too. My wife was making more money than the manager she worked for and that just couldn’t be allowed to happen.

Since then, she has worked, and worked hard, at a similar job, but one that pays far less than she made before.

She has applied for every job in her field that showed up in the MANY job searches she still does on a daily basis, but the fact of the matter is this; my wife is 61 years old and yeah, I do know it’s illegal to discriminate against a person because of age, sex of infirmity, but so far, she is VERY under-employed, and it looks like she’s going to stay that way.

No one has come right out and told her she was too old for the job, but her qualifications are impeccable, her work history is unblemished, and you don’t have to actually HEAR the words we just can’t hire someone of that age to KNOW it IS a deciding factor.

I guess under-employment for her and a fixed income for me is what we face.

But wait a minute, maybe all we need to do is submit her resume to the office of President Barack Hussein Obama. He said there are MANY jobs out there for the well educated and well trained didn’t he? He told that lady to send HIM her husbands resume. What a guy!

Since we all know the Obama jobs thing is a bunch of crap, just where is that ample safety net Mr. Romney speaks of? Anyone?

There are days when I consider closing the blog to save the money it takes to operate on a privately hosted, paid platform like WordPress.org.

It is not cheap to operate on a PAID platform, but the freedom of speech it gives me is worth it for as long as I can keep it open. I can’t be arbitrarily deleted because some liberal clown at Google/Blogger didn’t like what I had to say!

But here’s the truth about a fixed income, it limits my options drastically, and I KNOW it’s tight all over. I have had some awesome donations over the years and that has enabled me to keep on plugging away on an unlimited number of items, unafraid of censorship. But if those that have donated in the past are facing the same set of problems my wife and I are facing, it is VERY understandable why those donations have all but dried up.

So, I ask again, where, exactly, is that ample safety net Mr. Romney? Can you point us ALL in the right direction?

As the day began, the former Massachusetts governor told CNN from Florida: “I’m not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I’ll fix it. I’m not concerned about the very rich. They’re doing just fine. I’m concerned about the very heart of America, the 90-95 percent of Americans who right now are struggling.”

We, my wife and I, are not POOR, but we’re on that list of Americans that are struggling to get by, just as I know many of you are.

Romney says, “If it needs repair, I’ll fix it” but he failed to even remotely address just how he plans to ”fix it“.

It’s not that I believe Newt is any better than Romney, it’s not that I believe Santorum or Ron Paul are any better either. I think we ALL agree, Romney or Newt would do a much better job than Barack Hussein Obama, but other than a lot of talk, vague words, what has any of them said that would inspire confidence?

I have said it many times in the recent past, and I will keep on saying it until it sinks in and people actually take it to heart; IF this current crop is the best the GOP/RNC has to offer, I am of the opinion that it really is time to launch that American Conservative Party I have long believed is the only thing that will save America.

We don’t need a disorganized bunch like the TEA Party, they have no compass, no sense of direction. I know that a real CONSERVATIVE organization can work, one that absolutely holds the candidates feet to the fire and DEMANDS nothing but the best, or shows them the door, but it MUST have defined leadership on a National, State and Local setting.

We need a Conservative Party that’s NOT afraid of it’s own shadow and worried about the one thing that is killing America, political correctness.

I knew some folks that claimed to be that type of American Conservative Party a while back, but I soon discovered that they were mostly talk, not willing to ruffle the feathers of the establishment. They were afraid that the TRUTH would offend possible members, and like the TEA Party, they talked a good game, but they didn’t HAVE game.

America, we either get game or Obama gets another 4 years, and so far, NONE of the current crop the GOP has in the running has GAME.

Issa threatens contempt proceeding against Holder if Justice fails to comply with Fast and Furious subpoenas

The head of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is threatening to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress if he fails to comply with congressional subpoenas for documents.

Holder has until Feb. 9 to comply.

In a four-page letter to Holder, Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., claims the Department of Justice has “misrepresented facts and misled Congress,” which began its investigation of Operation Fast and Furious one year ago.

Issa wrote that Holder’s “actions lead us to conclude that the department is actively engaged in a cover-up” because it refuses to comply with previous subpoenas.

Full Story Here:
Issa Threatens Contempt Proceeding Against Holder If Justice Fails To Comply With Fast And Furious Subpoenas

I will be totally honest here; I have NO proof, of ANY kind regarding who hatched this Fast and Furious debacle, but I am convinced that Eric Holder, as the head of the Department of Justice, had to, at the very least, KNOW about it, if not having actually signed off on its approval.

I am of the opinion that Holder is protecting the *up line*, Barack Hussein Obama.

I am not saying that Obama came up with Fast and Furious on his own, but if he KNEW, and did nothing, he is as complicit in this matter as is anyone else connected to Justice.

I have written opinions on Holder, Obama and Fast and Furious in the past. I have hoped that Fast and Furious would mean the destruction of the Obama regime. So far, it hasn’t happened, and the *foot dragging* by Holder and Company is, in MY opinion, a stalling tactic done to keep it out of the major news cycles until after the November election.

In other words, I believe the Obama administration is engaged, directly, or indirectly, in an effort to take manipulation of justice to a new level.

Eric Holder Claims Racism Responsible for Fast and Furious Criticism. Do you remember that?

But Mr. Holder contended that many of his other critics — not only elected Republicans but also a broader universe of conservative commentators and bloggers — were instead playing “Washington gotcha” games, portraying them as frequently “conflating things, conveniently leaving some stuff out, construing things to make it seem not quite what it was” to paint him and other department figures in the worst possible light.

Of that group of critics, Mr. Holder said he believed that a few — the “more extreme segment” — were motivated by animus against Mr. Obama and that he served as a stand-in for him. “This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him,” he said, “both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.”

In typical Democrat fashion, any time something goes wrong, or when someone speaks out against Obama or Holder, The Race Card is immediately thrown into play, so much so that The Race Card has NO meaning.

The Race Card has been so overplayed that even if it were to be thrown legitimately, it would most likely be ignored in the political climate of today.

Think of the old fable about ‘The Boy who cried Wolf’.

Not that I put much thought into what Mexico thinks, but, Mexican attorney general: “Obama more involved in Fast & Furious than admitted!”.

In a statement released by Mexican Attorney General Marisela Morales, she called Operation Fast and Furious “an attack on Mexicans’ security.”

Morales told Mexican reporters that she is demanding a full and honest explanation from the United States government especially since evidence is being gathered that reveals the Obama administration was more involved in Operation Fast and Furious than top officials admitted in their sworn statements.

If what is being reported is true, U.S. Attorney General and other government officials may have committed perjury and/or obstruction of justice if it’s proven they lied when testifying before House and Senate committees.

Have you heard another word about this since it was 1st posted? Yeah, me either.

I have to wonder if Marisela Morales didn’t hit a raw nerve with the Obama regime.

Another recent statement I can’t argue with is this: NRA: After “Fast & Furious,” Eric Holder “Can’t be Trusted”.

So far, NRA, 52 U.S. Representatives, two U.S. Senators, and multiple GOP Presidential candidates have called on Attorney General Eric Holder to resign because of his role in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive’s failed “Operation Fast and Furious.”

Holder has steadfastly maintained that he and top Department of Justice officials did not know the scope or details of the operation until they became public earlier this year, but this week, in advance of hearings before the House Judiciary Committee, Holder called the “gun-walking” tactic used in the operation “inexcusable” and “wholly unacceptable.” He went on to say that many of the “walked” guns will likely continue to show up at crime scenes in the U.S. and Mexico.

Personally, I believe Holder can’t be trusted, I believe he should resign and is a damned LIAR, but that’s just me.

When stories like this are posted in the media, ATF ‘Fast and Furious’ secret audio: Murder of Border Patrol agent ‘collateral damage’, one wonders why the media is still far too quiet regarding Fast and Furious.

Not too long ago I posted this: Operation Fast and Furious – Is this Obama’s Waterloo? and I don’t hesitate to say, I was sincerely hoping it was The End for Obama.

I don’t know how much more this nation can take, or will take, but I DO know this, any administration that would take part in a work such as Fast and Furious, and continue to deflect, hide, duck, dodge and avoid any and all inquiries into Fast and Furious, is NOT an administration that should to be in power.

And one last thing; have you heard ANY of the front runners on the GOP side take issue with Obama, Holder, DOJ and Fast and Furious?

Occupy protest rekindles debate about flag-burning

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Many in the crowd outside Oakland City Hall shouted “Burn it! Burn it!” as masked protesters readied to set fire to an American flag. That’s when a woman emerged from the scrum, screaming for them to stop, that it would hurt the cause.

Full Story Here:
Occupy protest rekindles debate about flag-burning

Of course one of Barack Hussein Obama’s mentors, Bill Ayers, sees nothing wrong with the desecration of the American flag.

I’m sure we have all seen this video, the one that illustrates the views of Michelle Obama and her respect for the American flag.

But desecrating the American Flag is no big deal, right? These people seem to think it’s OK.

“Symbolic expression” is a phrase often used to describe expression that is mixed with elements of conduct. The Supreme Court has made clear in a series of cases that symbolic expression (or expressive conduct) may be protected by the First Amendment. Several of these cases have been highly controversial–perhaps none more so than Texas vs Johnson (1990) reversing the conviction of a man who expressed his strong displeasure with U. S. policy by burning an American flag. SOURCE

So, is it any wonder Occupy burns the American flag? Their supporters have no respect for the flag. Occupy has no respect for America or our laws. It makes a lot of sense once you tie all the players together.

Tea party v. establishment in 2012 race: A battle for the GOP soul?

Tea Party or establishment. That’s the name of the game in the battle for the Republican presidential primary nomination.

But sometimes it’s hard to determine who’s who.

Frontrunner Mitt Romney has never worked in Washington but has accumulated dozens of endorsements from Republican officialdom. Newt Gingrich was House speaker for four years, and has lived in Washington ever since his 1999 departure from Congress, but he’s running as the outsider who knows how to use his experience to crash the corrupt system and rebuild.

The expressions of support are an indicator where the divisions are lining up.

Full Story Here:
Tea Party v. Establishment In 2012 Race: A Battle For The GOP Soul?

I was a supporter of *NONE OF THE ABOVE* in the last presidential election. That didn’t catch on, the GOP ran McCain and Palin, got their asses handed to them, and WE got stuck with Barack Hussein Obama and his pet Wookie, Mooch.

The TEA Party and their choice means very little to me, as long as they don’t endorse Ron Paul, it is what it is.

The local TEA Party organizations lost nearly ALL credibility with me a while back when our Rowlett TEA Party was taken over by Ron Paul Big *L* Libertarians and was run into the ground by them.

Then the TEA Party on the other side of the lake, The Rockwall TEA Party, was co-opted by the GOP and made NO secret of the fact that they were indeed an operational arm of the local GOP.

So, maybe this will state it a bit more eloquently.

I have quite a bit to say about this one, but let me present some great opinion from my friend and blog buddy, Bloviating Zeppelin. His take on the GOP choices are as clear, and as honest as it gets.

ROMNEY: Too slick for his own good. Never a hair out of place. I couldn’t care less about his Mormonism — BUT — his Mormonism wasn’t evidently sufficiently in place for him to object to abortions earlier. Or gay marriage. Or state-mandated healthcare. Or increased taxes. A publicly-hocked lugie wouldn’t stick to his visage. And he has more money than Croesus. On the other hand:

Romney has a private business acumen that is rivaled by few. He took Bain Capital to new heights. He actually DID create NEW jobs as opposed to Obama Spiritual Jobs.

He turned the Olympics around. He is known, to a select few, as an Improver. You give him a private sector problem and he’ll turn it around for profitability. The problem he must overcome is this: profit is now considered EVIL and, with it, himself as EVIL. Bottom line: if anyone can fix capital problems, it’s Romney.

His religion keeps him personally faithful. But is everything else up for grabs? Is he what you wish to be when you wish him to be it?

But WHO is he — exactly??

GINGRICH: Yes, former Speaker of the House. And no one, NO ONE, disputes his innate intelligence. Wherever he goes, no one with a whit of brainpower denies that he’s “the smartest man in the room.”

That said, is he and will he be the most Sensible Man In The Room?

Truly, no one knows. Gingrich is Jekyll and Hyde. One face one day or moment, another face or moment another day or moment.

And like a number of men in power, he went through women like some people go through toilet paper. It’s about the power. No more than that.

If it was terrible for Clinton, it should be terrible for Gingrich. But it isn’t. Because things are skewed. Gingrich married his squeezes. Clinton just fucked them and moved on with impunity and predominantly wasn’t called on it until the very end of his White House.

CLINTON vs GINGRICH: The former wife of Newt Gingrich made reference to an “open marriage” and, now, Newt is taken to task for that.

Contrast and compare: When was the last time, do you think, that Hillary and William actually enjoyed conjugal relations? Or even slept in the same zip code?

RON PAUL: Mr Paul is a Truther and a Nutcase. He associates with white supremacists. He has great ideas about our monetary system and the Federal Reserve. He tends to go Constitutionalist. He is for Less Government. No debt. States’ right.

He thinks drugs should be legalized. He thinks our borders should be porous. He thinks we should have no interest or reference to extra-national affairs.

That crazy crap just can’t stand.

And so: imagine that Republicans haven’t come to a one-focal-length intensity point.

Illuminate me. Tell me where I’m wrong. Bloviating Zeppelin

BZ writes at a level some people can’t comprehend, he uses words that contain 3, 4 and sometimes 5 or more syllables, and it drives libbers totally crazy!
I know we have to settle on one of the GOP candidates in the offering, but I truly cringe at what serves as *The BEST and the Brightest* the RNC/GOP has to offer.

(AP) – Oakland officials assessed damage to City Hall caused by Occupy protesters while leaders of the movement claimed Sunday that police acted illegally in arresting hundreds of demonstrators and could face a lawsuit.

Mayor Jean Quan was among those inspecting damage caused after dozens of people broke into City Hall on Saturday, smashing glass display cases, spray-painting graffiti, and burning an American flag.

That break-in culminated a day of clashes between protesters and police. Interim Police Chief Howard Jordan said nearly 400 people were arrested on charges ranging from failure to disperse and vandalism. At least three officers and one protester were injured.

In a news release Sunday, the Occupy Oakland Media Committee criticized the police conduct, saying that most of the arrests were made illegally because police failed to allow protesters to disperse.

Full Story Here:
Oakland to assess damage after Occupy protests

You see that symbol in the top left of this post? That is one of the signs of the anarchist.

That is all these Occupy trash are; anarchists, and nothing more. If you don’t know what an anarchist is;

anarchy – Noun:
1.A state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority.
2.Absence of government and absolute freedom of the individual, regarded as a political ideal

These people live in filth, they take illicit drugs, they rape, they rob, they break in to a City Hall and do damage, and then have the gall to call their arrests an illegal act on the part of the Oakland Police Department.

These people remind me of the vermin that marched on Berkley and Kent State back in the 1960′s, and that didn’t turn out too well, for the protesters.

I am honestly looking forward to this upcoming event:

Campaign to bring 50k protesters to Chicago begins

The magazine that helped launch the Occupy Wall Street movement is calling for 50,000 protesters to come to Chicago for the NATO and G-8 summits.

Adbusters Magazine is based in Canada, but has followers and fans around the world. This week it posted a tactical briefing on its website that calls for a showdown in Chicago. They want 50,000 protesters to show up on May first with tents for a month-long people’s summit. That’s nearly three weeks before the NATO and G-8 summits will begin.

My money is on the Chicago Police Department, and here’s why; 1968 Democratic National Convention protest activity. The Chicago P.D. has been there before, and I am pretty sure that they still know how kick ass and take names!

And WHO supports these anarchists called Occupy?

House Democratic Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she supports the growing nationwide Occupy Wall Street movement, which began on the streets of downtown New York City in mid-September.

“I support the message to the establishment, whether it’s Wall Street or the political establishment and the rest, that change has to happen,” said Pelosi in an exclusive interview with ABC News “This Week” anchor Christiane Amanpour. “We cannot continue in a way this is not relevant to their lives.” ABC News

Barack Hussein Obama supports Occupy too: from Oct. 2011.

In an interview that will be aired tonight on ABC News, President Obama continues to express his commitment to the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

“The most important thing we can do right now is those of us in leadership letting people know that we understand their struggles and we are on their side, and that we want to set up a system in which hard work, responsibility, doing what you’re supposed to do, is rewarded,” Obama tells ABC News. “And that people who are irresponsible, who are reckless, who don’t feel a sense of obligation to their communities and their companies and their workers that those folks aren’t rewarded.” The Weekly Standard

Look once again at the definition of ANARCHY, then look at WHO supports it.

You’re welcome!

Anti-Gun Group to Launch Nationwide Boycott of Starbucks

(CNSNews.com) — The National Gun Victims Action Council (NGAC) will lead a national boycott of Starbucks Coffee products on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, to try to change the company’s “open carry” gun policy at its locations. Starbucks currently allows guns to be openly carried by patrons in its stores in the states where it is legal to do so.

“Starbucks allowing guns to be carried in thousands of their stores significantly increases everyone’s risk of being a victim of gun violence,” said Elliot Fineman, CEO of the NGAC in a statement. “Open and conceal-and-carry are among the reasons there are 12,000 gun homicides each year in the U.S.”

The NGAC further stated that Starbucks has the legal right to ban guns from their coffee shops but the company “clings to this policy that puts millions of Americans at risk every day and encourages the spread of guns being carried in public.”

The NGAC says that its boycott will, “90% of the time,” reduce Starbucks stock price.

Full Story Here:
Anti-Gun Group to Launch Nationwide Boycott of Starbucks

First and foremost I want to applaud the Starbucks chain for their stand on, and support of the Second Amendment and the carrying of LEGAL firearms in their stores.

I don’t particularly like Starbucks. I am not into designer coffee, I like my coffee hot, sweet (Equal) and black, but on occasion I will go to Starbucks with friends that truly like their Mocha-Polka Frapahoochie Caramel Iced coffee with peppermint sprinkles.

That said; Elliot Fineman is an IDIOT!

Open and concealed carry, by legal, lawful citizens is NOT a contributing reason for 12,000 gun homicides each year in the U.S.

Mr. Fineman is very wrong in his statement.

If anything, the LEGAL carry of firearms, by legal and responsible Americans is one of the reasons that homicide rates are not any higher than they are. Legal and licensed to carry gun owners are NOT the problem and I defy Mr. Fineman to prove otherwise.

I defy him to show irrefutable proof that the carrying of LEGAL arms by LEGALS citizens has cause any rise in the numbers of homicides in the USA.

I am sure Mr. Fineman doesn’t have the cojones to actually list JUSTIFIABLE homicides, acts where, yes, a life was taken, but that action was one of self defense by the gun owner or to protect others in his presence that were being threatened with death by an assailant.

Mr. Fineman must not realize, legal, responsible gun owners and CHL holders are not, by any stretch of the imagination, the ones that commit acts of murder, armed robbery and so forth. We are, however, citizens that have a terribly bad attitude against those that do.

I am thinking that on Valentines Day I may have to go to my local Starbucks and have a cup of coffee … maybe.

I may undertake my own personal boycott of Starbucks over this next story.

Starbucks: Legalizing Same-Sex Marriage ‘Is Core to Who We Are and What We Value’

(CNSNews.com) – Starbucks, the world’s largest coffee shop chain, added its name to the list of major corporations that have endorsed a gay marriage bill in Washington State, saying the legislation shares the company’s values at its core. The decision was criticized by many conservative, pro-family organizations.

Leading traditional marriage organizations, for instance, are accusing the Seattle-based company of “meddling” in the debate, after Starbucks joined Google, Microsoft, and Nike in support of the legalization of same-sex marriage that is currently gathering momentum in the state legislature. SOURCE

I have stated, on numerous occasions, I don’t care what a persons sexual orientation may be. I don’t care who a person lives with or sleeps with, it is none of my business.

What consenting adults do, in the privacy of their home, is none of my business.

Their personal sexual arrangements don’t affect me one way or another as long as they practice that arrangement in privacy and don’t attempt to foist it off on me. But make no mistake, I am a firm believer that the sanctity of marriage is to be between a man and a woman.

I have also heard some pundits say, “Let them get married, they have as much right to be miserable as the rest of us.” but I digress.

I see some good things come from Starbucks and an assumed to be Conservative stance on the Second Amendment and guns, and then I see the libber from hell come out when they use their corporate power to back homosexual marriage.

All things considered, I think I’ll stay home on Valentines Day and drink MY coffee.

Particularly damning is this statement made by the Garland Gun Range owner, James Day, who said the bullets are not coming from his range.

Navy SEAL raid in Somalia shows campaign ahead

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Navy SEAL operation that freed two Western hostages in Somalia is representative of the Obama administration’s pledge to build a smaller, more agile military force that can carry out surgical counterterrorist strikes to cripple an enemy.

That’s a strategy much preferred to the land invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan that have cost so much American blood and treasure over the past decade. The contrast to a full-bore invasion is stark: A small, daring team storms a pirate encampment on a near-moonless night, kills nine kidnappers and whisks the hostages to safety.

Special operations forces, trained for such clandestine missions, have become a more prominent tool in the military’s kit since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that led to the ongoing war in Afghanistan. The administration is expected to announce Thursday that it will invest even more heavily in that capability in coming years.

The SEAL Team 6 raid in Somalia, which followed last May’s operation that killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, has political dimensions in an election year.

Navy SEAL raid in Somalia shows campaign ahead

A “smaller, more agile military force that can carry out surgical counterterrorist strikes to cripple an enemy” sounds like a wonderful concept to me, and I am all for a new plan, one that could negate the use of a massive land army such as we saw in Iraq, especially given the outcome of those actions in Iraq thus far.

But what happens when we actually need that massive land army, and need it in a hurry?

We don’t have a draft, we have an all volunteer force, and in the event of the need to field a large fighting force in a hurry, what is the solution to that? Call up the National Guard and set them in place?

I am not privy to the numbers at this present time but I do know that during the time of the BIG operations in Iraq, the Army National Guard was doing a large percentage of the work. I suppose that is a viable consideration.

And not to denigrate to work of our U.S. Navy SEALs and Army Spec-Ops in any way, but suppose they were to run into a fighting force, not of superior quality, but of superior numbers, and were to find themselves in a situation much like the one the combined task force suffered in 1993 in the Battle of Mogadishu?

Can you imagine how the media would react today? Given this next paragraph, I know I can, and this paragraph is real, from the original story.

The SEAL Team 6 raid in Somalia, which followed last May’s operation that killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, has political dimensions in an election year.

It’s all about the political winds and the direction they are blowing. And it’s about the guts that an American President has when it comes to aggressive combat operations.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t believe Obama has any more military leadership skills than did Bill Clinton. What I do believe is this; so far, Obama has been damned lucky in his military endeavors, that is, IF we are being told the truth by the Dept. Of Defense.

Regarding the mission to Somalia in 1993.

The mission in Somalia was seen by many as a failure. The Clinton administration in particular endured considerable criticism for the outcome of the operation. The main elements of the criticism surround the administration’s decision to leave the region before completing the humanitarian and security objectives of the operation, as well as the perceived failure to recognize the threat Al-Qaida elements posed in the region as well as threat against United States security interests at home. Critics claim that Osama bin Laden and other members of Al-Qaida provided support and training to Mohammed Farrah Aidid forces. Osama bin Laden even denigrated the administration’s decision to prematurely depart the region stating that it displayed “the weakness, feebleness and cowardliness of the US soldier”.

The loss of American military personnel during the Black Hawk Down operation evoked public outcry. Television images of American soldiers being dragged through the streets by Somalis were too graphic for the American public to endure. The Clinton Administration responded by scaling down US humanitarian efforts in the region.

On September 26, 2006, in an interview on Fox News with Chris Wallace, former President Bill Clinton gave his version of events surrounding the mission in Somalia. Clinton defended his exit strategy for US forces and denied that the departure was premature. He said conservative Republicans had pushed him to leave the region before the objectives of the operation could be achieved: “…[Conservative Republicans] were all trying to get me to withdraw from Somalia in 1993 the next day after we were involved in ‘Black Hawk down,’ and I refused to do it and stayed six months and had an orderly transfer to the United Nations.” SOURCE

These last few months have seen Barack Hussein Obama use military special forces almost as if he were trying to win favor with the American public and voters … wait.

Politics of defense cuts: emphasize the positive

As I said, it’s ALWAYS about the politics. Always.
